Re: Questions several have asked, but looking to consolidate it and make a final decision for myself

If I had it to do over I would get an implant without hesitation. To prevent size loss use a VED daily. It pulls fresh oxygenated blood into the penis which prevents atrophy. Atrophy is a common cause of size loss. I am on my 3rd implant and I have never had a problem with the glands MOST IMPORTANT ...

Re: Implant after RP

I had an Titan installed about 4 years after the radical prostatectomy. I would have done it sooner, but insurance wouldn't cover it. When I was put on Tricare at age 60 (they cover it) I had the implant a couple of months later. I strongly recommend you spend 20 - 30 minutes a day using a VED. That...

Re: Size loss

If you cycle it daily you should be okay. I went through a revision about 8 weeks ago. After about 3 weeks of cycling I have fully recovered length and girth.

Re: A short comparison of Malleables and Inflatables

I have had both implants as well. Last December had revision surgery. They implanted a Titan and about 3 weeks later I was infected. They removed the Titan and replaced it with a Malleable as a place holder. I was given the choice of keeping the malleable or in 6 months install another Titan. I chos...

Re: 3 revisions in 8 months

I have a bit of experience to add to this discussion. Dec 15, 2022 I had a revision surgery. They removed a 22cm 2cm RTE Titan. It was replace with a 24cm 1cm RTE Titan. Jan 10, 2023 The Titan was replace with a 23CM malleable because of an infection. I never had pain or fever. But the surgical woun...

Re: 4th Implant

I am seeing questions from people about this. I will try to answer them. Symptoms: The only symptoms I had when I had the infection was extreme exhaustion. I remember the one day it took all I had to eat a 1/2 serving of yogurt for lunch. I did not have any swelling or pain of any type. The incision...

Re: Broken IPP going on 1 year now.

I've had 3 implant surgeries over the last 5 months. Looking back there is no doubt in my mind that I would do it again to achieve the implant goal.

Re: What is the risk of infection for revision surgeries?

The risk of infection for revision surgeries is 10% is it is an inflatable. I did get infected after my first revision. They put a malleable in as a temporary replacement for 5 months. They wanted me fully recovered. They told me I could keep the malleable if I wanted to. The malleable isn't all tha...

4th Implant

Last Dec I had a revision surgery to replace an implant that had sprung a leak after 8 years. About 3-1/2 weeks later the surgical site opened up about 1" and a lot of fluid came out. It seems I had developed an infection. Strangely enough I never had any pain. About 2 days later they went in a...

Re: Revision Gone Sideways

A bit of clarification to my original post. The surgeon I went to is a high volume surgeon and he has participated in several studies and co-authored papers about implants and infection. When an infection occurs it is their standard procedure to remove the inflatable and replace it with a malleable ...
