Re: Nitinol implants, Andrew Kramer
HI RICHARD....it has been years for both of us here on franktalk. I remember you well since we were both implanted around the same time. There was once a funny discussion about you saying : "hey, whatever happend to richardthefrog, DID HE CROAK ?" (I think I wrote in defending you stating...

Re: Nitinol implants, Andrew Kramer
But you'd need to use an external device to get erections, whereas an inflatable implant is more self contained. Also, one advantage of an inflatable implant is that you can keep erect for however long you want to. This won't be possible with the memory metal implant. Keep it hot with friction. :sh...

Re: Nitinol implants, Andrew Kramer
Sure, there is nitinol in the implant (according to the announcement), which also says "When not in use for sex, the implant can be manually pushed down for concealment, for a discreet, natural appearance". Clearly suggesting that the implant does not use the temperature-activated "m...

Re: Nitinol implants, Andrew Kramer
If that's not the nitinol implant, then why does it say "silicon over nitinol" in the description? Do you know where I can look to keep updated on the progress of the nitinol implant? Sure, there is nitinol in the implant (according to the announcement), which also says "When not in ...

Re: Nitinol implants, Andrew Kramer
The Tactra implant your link connects to is a simple malleable, not the nitinol "memory metal" pumpless, erecting implant still in trials (last I heard, in 2019, animal trials with cadaver trials in late 2019 or 2020, as I recall) As far as I know, Dr. Kramer is still doing surgeries but ...

Nitinol implants, Andrew Kramer
I had a pump implant put in by Dr. Andrew Kramer in March 2017. It still works fine. I couldn't be happier with it. It's been a while since I've looked into this implant stuff. Have they invented nitinol implants yet? https://www.bostonscientific.com/en-US/patients/about-your-device/penile-implants/...

Re: Anyone tried the new nitinol Tactra implant?
Hey Frog - welcome back to the board ... good to hear from you. So ... how's everything working out for you? I love the implant. Couldn't imagine being without it. There are the occasional awkward conversations about why I have a plastic pump, which is why I was inquiring about the nitinol implant.

Re: Anyone tried the new nitinol Tactra implant?
I'm still confused as to what makes it go up and down. Isn't nitinol heat activated? So is it the heat generated by the warmth of your hand? Here's a video about nitinol where it says you must heat it to 500 degrees (Celsius?) to program a new shape. https://youtu.be/JKBM9my5eOA Different alloy for...

Re: Anyone tried the new nitinol Tactra implant?
It's been a just few months since that implant was released, so few people have it. Also, it is not the new type implant previously mentioned before. Tactra is still semi-rigid. New type implant(similar to inflatable and made by shape memory alloy) is still under developement Are you saying it does...
