I had the same issue at first. As you learn to use the pump, this should get better. Your tissue will stretch more. Also, make sure you have emptied the cylinders completely. Your size will likely continue to increase for at least a year. That is my experience, as well as many others whose posts I have read here. I am about one year out, still seeing small gains in size and girth.

Not hopeless at all. But my recommendations would be to exhaust other possibilities first, see another doc if nothing improves. If all else fails, then the implant will be the answer to your dreams.
