Re: Newbie and have questions
I can't speak about other doctors, but mine considers infection to be the greatest implant risk. To that point he premedicates with oral antibotics starting two days prior to surgery. The antibotics are Rifampin 300mg and Cefadroxil 500mg. He also wants you to wash the pelvic area with Betadine sta...

Re: Titan OTR Premature Failure
Underwent Revision surgery for failed Titan OTR on Tuesday, Oct 25th. The surgery discovered a failed connection to the pump in the scrotum. The pump was replaced and I was out of the hospital by noon. Just some stitches and never needed any pain meds after leaving the hospital. Hate the antibiotics...

Re: Titan OTR Premature Failure
I did speak with Travis at Coloplast. I also spoke to the Coloplast Rep for my area. They both had the same story. That is that premature failures are almost unheard of. They offer nothing regarding associated revision medical costs. The surgeon must work through their Coloplast Rep to obtain approvals and materia...

Titan OTR Premature Failure
After careful consideration, I opted for a Titan OTR implant that was performed in June 2010. After my recovery from surgery the implant performed well but has always felt unnatural when deflated. It also felt as though the tubes bunched up if I fully deflated the device resulting in some mild disco...

Re: Hello
Thanks Guys. I have considered an attorney, but am awaiting feedback from the Doc. I am contacting him today and may call Coloplast directly. Good advice on reposting. Will do.

Hello
My name is Ed and I live in the Atlanta area. I found this site while searching for info on implants. My story may be of interest to some as it deals with premature failure of a Titan OTR implant that was performed in June 2010. Naturally, I was very disappointed when I discovered that the pump fail...
