I have something similar...for me its just the cylinder sticking out. when I pump it up all the way it straightens out. I can bend it straight but it will bend again after a while.

you are way early into the process...it get easier to pump as it breaks in. but once the cylinders are at max full --then the bulb gets really hard and wont pump much more.
