One year post surgery follow-up

I am remiss in commenting on this board. I only logon occasionally, but I did want to offer my experience now that it has been one year since my surgery. I had the AMS700 and I have been extremely pleased with the results. I started having ED issues in my 50s, after several bouts with Kidney stones ...

Re: 4 month post op report

The surgeon was Dr. Han at Northwell. He is one of the two implant specialists at the Smith Institute. The surgery was done at Northshore in Manhasset. The hospital was great, it was outpatient and I did not feel at all awkward and the staff was very accommodating. In terms of the length, it really ...

4 month post op report

I have been quite silent on the board for awhile, but it has been extremely helpful, so I thought I ought to offer my own 4 month post op report. I had the AMS 7000 implant on August 19. In the past I had had severe peyronie's disease which was treated in a pilot injection study, which helped a lot ...

Re: Getting used to the implant

Thanks. I was at the MD yesterday and he helped my inflate and deflate, but I still have difficulty finding the deflate button. I guess it takes practice, but you are right, it is nothing like the keychain.

Getting used to the implant

It has been a month and the healing is going well. The main problem I have is locating the release valve. I am afraid to pump much because I am afraid I won't be able to release it afterward. I still have stitches which may be getting a bit in the way. I see the MD this week and I hope he can help. ...

Re: Surgery

Good luck. I had mine on Aug 19. After a week I felt much better. It is almost 2 weeks, still a little sore but no need for pain meds and swelling is mostly gone.

Swimming after surgery

How long did you guys have to wait until you went swimming after surgery? It has been two weeks, and I don't see the doctor for another week. I was able to shower after the second day.
Thanks.

Re: Surgery yesterday need support

Thanks to all who responded. It has been a little more than a week, and I am much improved. Swelling is way down, no more pain medication, but still use ice packs which help a lot. Still look bruised, but when I had an angiogram ten years ago I was black and blue for months. I don't see the doctor f...

Re: Driving

I had to drive to the doctor two days after surgery to have the bandages removed and I was okay- it was an hour each way. The only hard part was getting in and out of the car which is low off the ground.
