Re: Bionic Today

By "cast" do you mean just a big bunch of gauze wrapped around your dick? You're not talking about a rigid plaster or plastic cast right? If it's just the big bunch of gauze, I can relate. Yes, I still (almost 3 weeks out) have a fair amount of dribbling during urination, and also afterwar...

Re: Looking for answers to pre and post op

Bring the minimum to the hospital, loose clothes, step in shoes, insurance card & ID, & phone (your ride will most likely not be allowed to come inside to get you, the staff will be in touch with your ride, but I liked having the ability to make my own call on the way out of recovery). At ho...

Re: Bionic Today

Frozen peas are a great way to ice, because the bag is 'soft' and conforms to whatever shape it needs to. Also, they are not as cold as a solid block, so a bit gentler kind of icing, less risk of getting a freezer burn. I just got 2 bags and switched them out every 20-30 minutes.

Re: New Implant - surgery and recovery

Today is day 17 since surgery, my first post here since day 4. Things have gone quite well overall. I’m lucky to have been able to take all this time off work and just rest at home. Week 1 I spent a fair amount of time reading through many different threads here on FT, especially the first week aft...

Re: New Implant - surgery and recovery

Here is a photo from yesterday, when I first could see the "surgical glue." The outlines of the glue were not apparent when I removed the clear plastic dressing and gauze in the shower. The little bits of white detached glue were visible, but looked like they could have been left from the ...

Re: New Implant - surgery and recovery

Monday, 4 days post surgery now. I’m very fortunate to have my partner here taking care of me. He’s made everything so much easier than it would have been otherwise. He was with me pretty constantly for the couple days around the surgery, and has been able to leave me resting on the couch and go out...

Re: New Implant - surgery and recovery

I took my 48 hour post surgery shower, and got my first look at my dick. Everything is fine now, but the process was temporarily disconcerting. My instructions were: "Your incision is covered by gauze and a clear plastic dressing. Please leave this dressing in place for 48 hours. After 48 hours...

Re: New Implant - surgery and recovery

I was able to sleep on my side last night, I'm happy to report. I just put two firmer pillows between my knees to give plenty of space to the groin, and I got a good night's sleep. I also stopped the narcotic last night (hydromorphone, brand name Dilaudid) and switched to Extra Strength Tylenol. I t...
