More explicitly: I think that the process of dilating the corpora during surgery sometimes damages the arteries of the penis, resulting in discoloration similar to that associated with peripheral arterial disease.

I suffered a priapism a few years ago that resulted in scarring and discoloration of my penis. The skin/tissue of my penis now look similar to the limbs and feet of people diagnosed with periphal arterial disease. I've seen a few other posts here from implantees mentioning post-implant discoloration...
