Re: Best insurance, please help
Take a look at Blue Cross Blue Shields benefit brochure. This is BCBS for federal employees. On page 58 under orthopedic and prosthetic devices it states as covered " Surgically implanted penile prosthesis limited to treatment of erectile dysfunction and gender affirming surgery". This is ...

Re: Insurance Denial
Jeb, As a current federal employee, I had GEHA medical and they will not cover an implant. They will not even consider an implant unless it is a transgender case. What I did find out was BCBS does cover implant surgery for men with ED. BCBS was the only plan available to me that covered the implant....

Re: PD, ED and Insurance
Do you have a choice of insurance plans like other federal employees? Open season starts this week and would be a good time to switch to a health care policy that covers implants. I had GEHA (united healthcare) and they would not even cover an implant for any reason other than transgendering. Go fi...

Re: 3 weeks from surgery with pump question
I was instructed to tug downwards occasionally and I did. But, the pump has pretty much stayed in the same location and orientation.

Re: 3 weeks from surgery with pump question
My pump is located between my testicles towards the bottom with the bulb facing 3 oclock. It is easily accessible from the sitting or standing position.

Re: how does the reservoir feel?
I had the infrapubic method. I have never noticed or felt the reservoir. It was placed inside the same area as the bladder. Only one incision not counting the 2 stitches for the drain.

Re: Implanted and working through recovery
I was implanted by Dr. Christine and fellow Dr. Rachel Engelberg in April. I did not receive any paperwork from the hospital regarding implant information. I was told on my follow up with Dr. Engelberg that I had received the AMS LGX and then we began to deflate and inflate. I did receive a credit c...

Re: What is it really going to be like?
I will start out saying you are going to be in good hands with Dr. Christine and his staff. I am a little over a month out and I can tell you my penis feels very natural except alot harder. My flaccid state is alot stiffer than normal but that's normal after the implant. The wife gave her approval a...
