Re: Tell me about the ball
Jage64 - keep in mind when you are practicing with the "model" of the pump, you are not actually moving any fluid through the bulb into the cylinders... so It may seem more difficult with the real thing at first. It takes me between 20 -30 pumps to get fully erect... I'm not cleared for se...

Re: Tell me about the ball
It does feel like a hard marble now, but I've not attempted to do anything with it until directed to by Dr. Clavell, so I'm not sure how hard it will be to pump- -------Jage - mine felt like a hard marble the first week I cycled too, very difficult to squeeze fully. When I met with the AMS Rep he s...

Re: Tell me about the ball
I think you'll find the answers may be a little different for everyone. I'm 4 weeks post surgery and I'm not aware of the pump at all except when I feel my ball sack and there it is. The first week or so I was swollen and it was difficult to feel the entire pump and especially the deflate button, bu...

Re: Pump very hard to squeeze
I'm 3 weeks post surgery and my doc cleared me for cycling at the 2 week mark stating I had healed faster than he anticipated. I too, found the pump very hard and it took a lot of effort to fully inflate. My surgeon provides a visit with an AMS Rep at either the 3 week or 4 week mark, basically to f...

Re: Cycling Everyday, Forever
Keith C - I know you asked a serious question, but it seriously made me laugh out loud. I can only assume some folks may be retired and only have their wife/husband/partner living with them.

Re: Long term type 1 diabetics beware
Gt1956 - My Ha1c is typically 6.5, my doc wants it below 7. I actually don't mind finger sticks or the insulin pen either... for me the Dexcom was more about knowing if my blood sugar was steady or going up or down and probably, most important, if I was heading for an extreme low. You can set it to ...

Re: Long term type 1 diabetics beware
Gt1956 - One of the best tools I could ever hope for in maintaining good control is a Dexcom automatic glucose monitor. It has been a game changer for me because I can see what my glucose is anytime by just looking at my smartphone. It not only tells me the number, but if my glucose level is going u...

Re: Long term type 1 diabetics beware
strunza- no worries, sir... I can understand your frustration, it is much easier to keep in control in the present day than when I was first diagnosed with diabetes. I wish you all the best.

Re: Long term type 1 diabetics beware
Being a Type 1 diabetic has no effect on your level of pain from any surgery. The key is to be well controlled and that has more to do with your risk for infection and how quickly you heal. I've been Type 1 for 40 years, and except for my twenties, always been in good control. If you are well contro...

Re: Variocele and implant
I'd say that's a question for a urologist. I was planning on having a hernia repair at the same time as an implant early next year. It would involve 2 different surgeons, but both agreed it was very possible, just would require some coordination. We hit a snag though, because the hernia surgery is r...
