No, he just came in, said it needed a full replacement, and left. He didn't give me time to ask any questions. My current insurance won't cover the revision.

I am currently in the same predicament. It seems like the trend is to just replace the whole device, especially if you have had it over 2 years. That's why I have heard at least.
