Depression treatment option

I am not a health care professional or anyone with an interest in selling anything here. Just a guy who's had ED, the depression that accompanies it, and treatments for both. I've had depression for about as long as the ED, maybe 15 years or so. My depression can be described as treatment resistant- been on different meds and therapies over the years. Anything that has helped had been short lived. I had my successful implant put in last year. However could not kick the depression- wife and I on the rocks. Still have not had sex with implant, whatever.
Then I discovered Ketamine. After the initial meeting and paperwork, I planned the initial 6 infusions over 2 weeks. Then needed an infusion for a while about every two weeks. Now that time period is getting longer, and I supplement with oral treatments at home. This has been the single biggest life changer for me, and it seems to have a high success rate. Seems like depending on where you live and the clinic you go determine if insurance pays or not. PM if you have questions.

I really understand your depression, because it is not something easy to assimilate but I think that you are not addressing the problem correctly.... if the reason for your depression is ED, or so you think, focus on enjoying what your ED does not I allowed you, pure sexuality, passion, LOVE...(Sometimes love depends on sex) and think about cases like mine that we deal with the same thing but with 24 years of life.... good luck friend

Nadie,
Had my depression been only from ED, I may have handled it a different way. But in my case there were other contributing factors- chronic pain, PTSD, PD, hereditary factors. I tried to meet each challenge head on, but most therapies were temporary.
Even though I eliminated the ED and PD, the depression was still there. The ketamine infusions are a game changer for me, and if awareness of the treatment could help even one person, it's worth me putting my private info out there.

My experience with the cat tranquilizer was in the 70s as a recreational drug I didn't at all care for. It was a bit popular for awhile among illicit drug users. It left lingering days long dopey after affects. Boy did it wack out those on it. The effect of "bath salt" sounded a bit similar to me. I'd use that drug under strict medical supervision if you must use it.
Good luck.

Doink,
Of course the infusions are given at medical clinics, and you are monitored throughout the session. The very low dose that is used here is much less than the dose used for anesthesia. Ketamine also has a very good safety profile and is on the WHO list of necessary medicines.
Bath salts are not.

I really appreciate you sharing your journey and the positive impact that Ketamine has had on your life. It's important for people to hear about different approaches to dealing with ED and depression, as it can provide hope and insight for others going through similar challenges. It's also great that you're open to answering questions. Sometimes, talking to someone who has been through it can be incredibly helpful. If anyone needs more information or support, don't hesitate to reach out. And remember, there are hotlines like the
anxiety hotline if anyone is struggling and needs someone to talk to right away.

Ketamine has some very promising results for depression plus its not an ssri which often can be a sex killer.
