It's great to have come across this community. I thought I would introduce myself and my problem.

I'm 27 and I'm from London. About 6 or 7 years ago now I started to notice my erections become weaker. Achieving them was not a problem but maintaining them was. Gradually this brought on severe performance anxiety. And that's all I put it down til, until a few months ago...

I saw a reputable Uro in London and they performed an ultrasound on me after having injected my penis. I was later diagnosed with a 'mild' venous leak. Tumescence graded at 2/3. Gutted.

To sum it up:

- I can achieve erections
- they will only stay erect for a matter of seconds before they start to fade
- erections while stood up are a no go
- needs constant stimulation to keep it up whilst alone, even then it will fade unless I'm super horny
- sex is thankfully not so problematic. I am aroused enough to maintain it (most of the time)

What I am worried about is a steady deterioration. I don't know if it is really getting worse. Over such a long time you fail to spot differences. (kind of like putting on a lot of weight over a long long time) you just don't notice it in progress. My fear is it will get worse and worse. Does it get worse? Do they typically stay the same? Or are all cases individual? Ie. some get worse, some stay, some even get better??

The docs prescribed me cialis and that works well. And I do know of a doctor called Dr Geng Hsu in Taiwan who specialises in this and has excellent results. This is all weighing over me like a storm cloud. What do I do?!

Edward, WELCOME to Frank Talk.
From what I have read here, it seems that each guy has slightly different case of ED as far as solutions go.
How far you go through those solutions, you will determine. Whether it continues with pills, or progresses to pumping, or then to trimix or bimix injection, or "all the way" to a penile implant.

I have found that here, I have learned what questions or requests are appropriate for my urologist. So far, my trimix injections are TOTALLY satisfactory for me. I hope you do as well.

Some pretty frank discussions take place in the CHATROOM. I think will find them interesting also.

Edward - your age group certainly puts you in a sub-set that may qualify you for a MABS procedure (micro-arterial by-pass surgery) While not 100%, nonetheless, this microsurgical approach has been succesful for many men who qualify for it. And, know this, there are not many skilled urologists
who do this. You said you have minor leak, well, I would say is it true venous leakage ? or just a poor arterial in-flow problem specufically on one side?
Just if your wondering....this surgery involves harvesting the inferior epigastric artery and re-routing it for a hook-up to the rear of the penis vasculature (that's the simplest way to describe it) just remenber, one has to qualify for this surgery. This done here in the USA at very few acedemic medical ctrs. good luck merlin

Hello Edward - well, I guess I choose to remain anonymous. Suffice it to say, essentially all that has been developed including most
diagnostic procedures was developed by a team of which I was involved. Have been to London a few times - very bright researchers over there.
national meeting coming up next month in Chicago. The international group of researchers will also join us. Always something new.
