Hello from Canada

Postby nickanick » Tue Oct 16, 2012 11:00 am

Hi I'm new and from Canada and 65 yrs.old-I had PC in 2009 and a prostatectomy because it was very aggressive. Then I had 34 treatments of radiation to the bowel area and 1 1/2 yr of hormonal injections.I was never told by my surgeon to start to self stimulate after the surgery to get blood flow back etc.Needless to say after waiting to see if my erections would return by itself I started complaining about ED.So finally he started me on cialis, viagra which did nothing. Then I was told to get a manual pump which did nothing after more cost. Then I asked for the penile injections and tried them 3x to no avail. My surgeon makes me feel like it is not my right to have a sex life after PC so I have now dumped him.My fam doc is setting me up with a surgeon to get a penile implant now.I hope to connect with others here that have gone this route.

Welcome to FT. ... hopefully your new URO/surgeon will provide better care than your previous one ...

While you are waiting, I would recommend you still use VED (vacuum pump) daily to maintain penis health. The old saying "Use it or lose it" is very true in this case and you need to get the blood flowing to your (erect) penis again or it will atrophy (lose size).

If an Implant is in your future there are many guys here that can answer any questions that you may have ... keep us posted on your progress.
