I joined a few weeks ago, but didn't see the introduction section. I am 69 years old, married 45 years. Mild ED about 15 years ago, Viagra worked OK. Had two bouts with kidney stones and had to have surgery to remove them with catheterization the second time. Doctors said it wasn't the cause, but I developed severe Peyronies disease with a year, and the drugs stopped working so I switched to injections which worked fine.
I was in an experimental drug study on injections to straighten out the curvature, which helped quite a bit for awhile (the drug is now on the market.) But, 6 months ago after 12 years of injections, they stopped working, and the Peyronie is getting worse again. I had the AMS implant on Wednesday. It was outpatient, and I can't say it was painless. I tend to bruise and develop scar tissue easily, so I am still quite bruised. When the dressing came off it looks like I was run over by a train. The first two days were rough. Once the dressing came off, the ice packs have been a godsend. Yesterday I was able to go out for dinner to an outdoor concert in the park, so I think it looks worse that it feels, especially with the ice.
I am finding this site very useful, and thank all the guys for their advice and support.

Welcome Jojolee. You must be doing fairly well to be out and about this soon. Good luck with continued healing from someone who is “waiting in line” for my surgery that was postponed due to the need for more critical surgeries during the pandemic.
How did you choose your Dr. implant and pump? It is my understanding that sometimes they mix and match the implants and pumps.
Again, welcome.

I live in the New York suburbs (i.e. Long Island) and I have been going to the Smith Institute for many years, after some painful kidney stone recurrences with a local urology practice. They have a variety of specialists in different areas, I was seeing two, one for stones the other for peyronies and ED and I went by their recommendation for a surgeon and his recommendation for the type of implant based upon my anatomy.

The consistent use of ice is working and the swelling is way down. Good luck!
