I have been following FRANKTALK for the last year. I am glad to see it will be around for awhile.
I am a user of VEDs. I was operated on with prostate cancer in February 2006.

Welcome. How's the VED working for you?
Born 1948, wed 1969. BPH & Type II Diabetes at age 35. TURP-2002; ED even before that--diabetes. Cardiac valve surgery: 2007 & 2019. Poor results with pills. Started trimix injections in Nov, 2010. Great results from the very beginning.

4 years & I am still really not comfortable with them but can not bring myself to injections or transplant surgery.
My wife is more comfortable with the VED than I am. THANK GOD FOR HER!!! As she says, be happy that you have
something that allows at least a semblance of normalcy.

Steve: Welcome to the land of the limp! I must agree with you that I never got the VED thing going for play time. Like you and most men we are reall wosses about sticking a needle in the little man!. When I finely decided to give it a try I though Darn why did I wait so long this is very easy.

I will admit I still take a deep breath before I stab the guy. It does not hurt and the results most of the time are GREAT! :D

Just wanted to jump in and say welcome.

Me: 72 year old married, father of 3, grandfather of 3, living in Michigan

I was on Viagra a long time ... then switched to Levitra when it came out...

I had major abdominal surgery 2 years ago (aortic aneurysm ruptured), and had several
problems after that:

First, infected testicle with pain and swelling...(I suspect from catheter use). antibiotics
fixed that.

Then retrograde ejaculation (I think thats what i have... but not certain.... anyhow not
much comes out) Ejaculation still feels great however.

Then blood in my ejaculate. That part has cleared up (after cystoscope and CT scan
disclosed nothing )

Yesterday was my Uro appointment for the initial shot and instructions... I was not
disappointed.... he injected .08 ml of trimix, and in ten minutes or so I was sporting the
best erection i have had in years. He checked it out .... gave me tips on what to do in case
of priapism, then sent me home ..... still hard and feeling very good.

Hopefully i will have the courage to self inject tomorrow .
75 Year Old guy in Michigan, married in 1958, ED since late '90s, then surgery in 2008 (not prostate or other genital) damaged some nerves making the ED worse. Now on trimix

Hang in there ohohiakane. I'm new with the injections also and so far so good. There are tons of folks on this website who can provide information on just about everything. Don't hesitate to ask. And put that wood to good use.

Hello gentlemen. 56 years old, 2 years post DaVinci followed by 6 weeks of radiation. No erection problems up to surgery. The pills have little effect other than horrendous sinus congestion, especially viagra but have to admit there is SOME engorgement. Maybe 50-60 %. So, now I am debating whether I need to be more patient and keep the faith or look into an implant. I'm in Denver, by the way and I have consulted with Dr. Mills at TUCC on this subject. He believes that I should have a little more patience since there does seem to be something moving down there. I try to use the VED as often as possible but it is a pain for sex. Mostly use it for solo masterbation sessions or strictly for "exercise". So...the questions: Anyone with experience of returning to normal after 2 years? Anyone in the Denver area? I really would like to visit in person with someone who's gone through this decision. My name is Dan. Thanks.

Dan

Unfortunately I am not in your area but I have chatted with many men by email and phone about implants. I did not have PCa but peyronies and to me the effect on the penis is the same.

There is a VED exercise I have posted that works well to keep your penis healthy while you make your decision. It worked for me and many otheres.

Most good Male Sexual Function Specialist now recommend that a year post op from PCa that if you have not regained an erection sutable for sex and the pills do not work the option of an implant. Every man I have chatted with the wait and see does not work after a year.

I do not know about Denver but most major cities do not have a Male Sexual Function Specialist that does over 100 implants a year. Most bad outcomes with an implant are by General Practice Urologist that only do 1 or 2 implants a month. So research any doctor well, I did not on my first implant try and had to go to Vanderbilt to get the help I needed.

I have a lot of information on implants I can forward to you. If you would like send me an email to jwp104@att.net and I will be happy to share my research with you, or any others that read this.

There are several of us on this forum that have been where you are. We now have restored our sexuallity with the help of the implant and a great doctor. Me I am over 25 months post op with mine. Great, wonderful, fantastic, do not begin to say how it has changed my life. :D :) ;) :o  8-)

Good luck and any way I can help let me know.

Dan, my doc suggested injections after unsatisfactory results with pills. I've been using injections for 2 weeks and the results are excellent. Still a couple of kinks to worrk out, but I've got real wood for the first time in 3 years. Big difference between us is cause of ED: mine is diabetes related, not the result of prostate cancer or surgery. At the end of the day, though, limp is limp. I would research injections before doing more surgery. Good luck. Greg
