I’m new here. Been reading this board for about a week and finally decided to join. I’m so glad I found this board. I was searching all over the Internet about implants and luckily stumbled upon this board.
I’ve been experiencing ED for about 4 years. My doctor prescribed Sildenafil 100 mg, which worked well for a couple years. But then it became very unreliable. One day about 6 weeks ago, I took two pills in hopes to get a better result. After a couple of hours, the erection turned into a semi-erect and stayed that way. I searched the Internet for a solution and found suggestions like taking a warm bath and exercising. None of it worked. Finally, I decided the only way I would be able to get rid of it was to go to the emergency room.
I was lucky the emergency room wasn’t very busy when I arrived. They took me straight back to a exam room. The ER doctor called the Urology department at the hospital. A neurologist came and started to work on me. This was a very painful experience. He stuck needles in my dick to release the blood. There was blood everywhere. But the erection did go away. But as luck would have it, it came back within a couple of minutes. This meant a different procedure was needed.
I was taken to the operating room and put under anesthesia. The urologist had to push a blade through the head of my dick and all the way down the shaft, two times (once on both sides)! That did the trick.
Unfortunately, that procedure made my ED worse. He advised me that pills will no longer work for me. He said I’ll most likely need an implant, although injections might work. He referred me to a different urologist for the remainder of my treatment.
He also said he wasn’t so sure that taking two pills caused the priapism. He suspects I had an interaction with another one of my meds. Who knows what caused it. Maybe we’ll find out when I finally get to see the other urologist next week.
I’m very scared I’ll be prescribed injections instead of an implant. I don’t want another priapism.
I apologize for the lengthy post. I just needed to tell people about my experience as only a couple people know about it.
Thank you for listening. And thanks to everyone who posted such valuable and informative information on this board. I feel equipped to meet with the urologist next week as an informed patient.

Re: Priapism Exacerbated ED
If the urologist wants to try Trimix or one of its close relatives, he or his nurse will inject a very small amount to see what, if anything, happens. Keep us posted - lot of injection and implant experts here!
Age 79 in 2024. On testosterone replacement due to hypothalamus malfunction. (Attention depressed guys: low testosterone is a cause.) Healthy health nut but ED due to getting old. Like to keep enough cardiovascular ability to thrust for 30 min.

PSurvivor,
I hope you get this figured out to your satisfaction. I wouldn't rush into an implant. Have you tried the pills since the incident? They might work. And don't be afraid to try injections. The work well for me with little pain. I've never had an ER trip and I've been doing them for over 10 years. I use a mono-mix. If you do try injections just go slow and error on the side of caution. You might want to ask about getting a script for an antidote although I've never used anything other Sudafed.
You might want to make sure your druggist has a complete list of your meds and ask him/her to check it for potential interactions with Viagra.
If I had a semi and it stayed warm I don't think I'd have worried about it. But you need to bare in mind I'm not a medical professional of any kind.
Edited: For numerous typos.
