Hello from new member in Chicago

Postby ChgoMatt » Tue Nov 07, 2023 5:37 pm

57 yo here and hoping to get some insight and guidance from y'all. I’ve had ED for about 7 years. That’s when I started on BP meds. Then this year I started on Viibryd, an SSRI for depression/anxiety, and I’ve seen a big decrease in sex drive. Cialis (20 mg) works to give me erections, but doesn’t increase my sex drive, and I always feel flushed on it, to the point that I easily get overheated, so can’t really do much in bed.

Compounding all this, I was diagnosed a couple of years ago with levator ani syndrome (pelvic floor dysfunction), and I have a lot of those symptoms too: frequent urination, pain when sitting, anorgasmia (delayed or infrequent orgasms), and lower back pain. I’m currently looking for a PT to help with this.

So, I have a lot going on, and am hoping to learn from (and eventually contribute to) the collective knowledge on this site. Thanks for being here.

Your journey is just beginning, get a VED today, start with a daily use. Start reading every thing here, these gentlemen have lived it all.
Maintaining your size right now will be beneficial as you come to a plan of action.
Good luck

Matt: You need a men's sexual health specialist urologist. They are usually found in large urology practices. Start with Frank Talk's "Physician Finder" at the top of the page. www.healthgrades.com might be of help. Good thing you are in a large metro area, but it still may take some research.

SSRIs do reduce libido, but how's your testosterone? Low T = low libido.
Age 79 in 2024. On testosterone replacement due to hypothalamus malfunction. (Attention depressed guys: low testosterone is a cause.) Healthy health nut but ED due to getting old. Like to keep enough cardiovascular ability to thrust for 30 min.

Welcome. You do have a lot going on. Hope you're able to find some answers.
One thing I'll comment about is size loss. Don't fight ED for a long time if you are considering an implant. Shrinkage is real if you are not getting erections often.

Good question, thanks. It's the low end of the normal range. It's 427 ng/DL when the normal range is supposedly 250-1100 ng/DL. I'm on Androgel, am going to ask my primary care physician about this.

Thank you. Sorry to be ignorant, but what is a VED?

Cogmat - Welcome. I’m new as well. You will find a list of commonly used acronyms in the first post under “General Discussion”, which you will find helpful for decoding some of the discussion.

Good luck in your journey!
64, Radical Prostatectomy in 2023, pills did nothing. Currently on Trimix with great success.
