I don’t know if this is an appropriate introduction but here it goes… When I was a young man I had a magnificent dick, eight and one half inches in all of its glory. Women always had comments about it sometimes saying, “It wont fit” to “I want to marry your dick.” As I grew older the quality of my erections diminished and the overall size of my dick was reduced to about seven and a half inches (at age 50). Ok, so this is part of the normal process of growing old… I understand and can accept this. But then…

I visited my doctor for my routine biannual finger poke test… and he felt something… that lead to a specialist for more finger poking that let to a biopsy (you know, a dildo that goes up your back end and houses 14” needless with a barb at the end… dang! you have to love mothern medicine!) and I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2010 and after weighing all of my choices I opted for the removal of the prostate (I was lucky enough to get the Davinchi robotic surgery) and in my case, the cancer was at the margins so they followed up with a full radiation treatment killing any chances I had to resume a normal sexual life afterwards.

Viagra used to work for me before the surgery but after having my prostate removed, no more. I have tried the vacuum device... fine for getting hard but not really functional and for me it is a little like Inspector Kemp's wooden arm … it works but not quite and the erection I wanted and the dick is down to six inches. Besides, I just don't see me approaching my lovely wife with my vacuum device and trying for intimacy… I just can’t…

So Dr. Uro started me on injectable drugs… they work for me but again… buzz killer! “Excuse me babe while I poke my dick with this here needle…” nah! Don’t think so. Sex should have a prick, not pricks… pun intended. There is no hope of spontaneous sex and even the erection is not as nice as with the vacuum device… the head is soft and even though I’m hard enough to penetrate, the erection itself is about one and a half inch shorter than what I get with the vacuum device. Besides, I have not been able to work out how to approach making love with the injectable drug… So my erection transition from “magnificent!” to “where’s the beef?” I’ve been using injectable drugs for over a year now but all I do is masturbate and give my dick a chance to come out and stretch a bit...

So Dr. Uro tells me I’m an excellent candidate for an implant and I have been thinking about this on and off for the past 6 months or so… to be honest, I was not certain that the implant was right for me and I keep hoping that my dick will suddenly awaken itself and be ready for some action… alas but my dick is in a coma… and the reality of my situation is that it is shrinking a bit more each day. Currently my dick is just a humble little spout I use to urinate with… Terrible. I think I'm now ready to get the implant...

That’s my story; I hope you enjoyed reading it, hope it made you laugh… I was going for a laugh. This Forum lets me know that I am not alone, that there are a lot of people here with similar issues as I have. Thanks for being here guys!

Welcome. Seems like you may have found the right place.

There are so many on here with so much knowledge and experience. My advice have a good look round, read loads and then start making decisions.

Although you add tad of humor to your history, I think most of us can relate to your story. I certainly can, and I am ahead of most here as I can get a blood erection and although have not had major prostate surgery, have had TURP. TURP generally leaves you with retro-grade ejaculation and couple that with my often PE, well, I am still in same boat as you in that I/WE have an ED problem. I believe an IPP is a fix for me, but fear it to late to safe much sex in my marriage as spouse is getting libido greater in each day of ageing and trying sex drives more frustration......of course, she says all is OK (thinking we can live on love I guess...I like sex myself, love just helps).

IMO, if an implant only gave you 5.5" of "hard" then you would be a winner.

Good evening just glad to see I,m not alone in this struggle. Sorry you had to be here to help me not be alone. I lost all capabilities to get an erection from RP sugery in April this year. I wanted to wait for a IPP untill I was sure cancer is gone. I notice my dick is getting smaller every month. I talked to my urologist about this matter he stated that most men will lose size from the surgery and keep losin if they can,t get an erection. He suggested a IPP implant as quick as possible to help limit size lose . I going for surgery this Friday has anyone eles done this IPP and how do you like it. Thanks for any reply.

Welcome to FT. You will finds many folks here who have had IPP due to surgery, accidents, etc. I am one who has ED in general that drugs, VED, etc. Then there are those like me with ED in general where drugs, VED, etc do not satisfy a fix.

I am waiting for IPP at SW Med, Dr Allan Morey, in Dallas scheduled for March 11th.

Seems I read 1 in 100 men have 8" or more , ( Kinser /Indiana U ). I was NOT a 1 lol. Your silver lining is you can loose some length bad as I admit that is but still be viable. Those average guys like myself well South of 7" really take a hit. For me orals a no go, pump is hit n miss ( although awesome when a hit I too can't see pumping with a new partner & breaking the stride ). That leaves injections which seem to be the best option aside from implanting. For me I'm talking to ppl here who went this route but the whole lost length thing bums me. I get the arguments & reasoning ( watched a ton of Dr vids), still you would think they could give you the best of all worlds ( enhancement as well as function). I need to get off the fence but keep thinking not so much that my ED will just vanish as much as hoping new treatments will emerge ( imagine a Nitric oxide injection taken every 6 mos returning you to full potency , etc)
