Hi Guys ( and a few ladies),

I joined FrankTalk after first joining r/penileimplants subreddit on Reddit.

Last year, I was looking for solutions online for my problems with anorgasmia - for which I didn't find anything satisfactory. But in the process I discovered information about permanently curing my chronic ED - with an inflatable penile prosthesis. This also gave me some insight that my problems with anorgasmia were probably linked to stress and performance anxiety due to erectile dysfunction.

This week (1/29/25), I'm flying to Houston for my penile implant surgery by Dr Jonathan Clavell (see his videos on YouTube).

My background was growing up in an Air Force family of 5 kids, college at University of Kentucky learning Computer Science, followed by 35 years in IT - a career I really enjoyed until my last job which started out in management at a big software company then gradually got me sucked into Sales. I hated Sales but for a while was addicted to the earnings and the perks.

In parallel I lived for a couple years in Maryland after college, got tired of my boss and the crummy winters and relocated to Southern California. There I met my future wife, got married had 2 kids then decided to move back to the DC area for better kids schools.

Four years later I got cruised by a guy in a bookstore while on a business trip in Minneapolis. All of a sudden I realized that I'm gay. And I was appalled. This meant I was going to lose my wife, might lose shared custody of my kids, and would surely be fired from my job if they ever found out my secret.

But eventually it all worked out OK. My kids are grown now. One of my kids is gay, the other is gender queer. My ex-wife and I were friendly before she died of cancer.

When I met my future husband in 2009, the relationship led me to quit my job; I went back to school and got a Nursing degree at Georgetown University (at age 59!). I worked 11 years as an Oncology nurse, then retired.

During the past 10 years, ED has gradually robbed me of my erections, orgasms, and libido. I did all the usual things my doctors recommended including pills, pumps, cock rings and finally shots of Trimix. The shots barely worked even with ever increasing doses, and I'd have bad penile cramps when the shots wore off.

So I'm hoping my penile implant will start me down a positive new path in life. Hopefully my husband will enjoy it too. :-)

Regards,

Alex Ford
