Pending penile implant this week

Postby 42mapleg » Sun Jun 01, 2014 7:57 am

4 1/2 years ago had a melon sized prostate removed robotically at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Ma by Dr Canes. Largest he could find at the time with a more than 8 hour operation. Since then I have struggled with wearing pads and ED. Can no longer face sticking myself with a needle for sex. Sure kills the moment.
6/6/14 will undergo dual operation for both sling and penile implant.
I live in western mass but driving the 100+ miles for the surgeons I trust.
Any words of comfort or advice for what I'm about to encounter!

mapleg...

I am not an implantee, but still happy with trimix injections.

Just wanted to wish you the very very best with your new adventure, and hoping it brings you back to the best you can be.

Bill
75 Year Old guy in Michigan, married in 1958, ED since late '90s, then surgery in 2008 (not prostate or other genital) damaged some nerves making the ED worse. Now on trimix

42mapleg,
Be very careful on the drive home ... see if you can get an inflatable donut cushion ... to ease the ride. I still use mine all the time. Lots of ice packs the first few days, don't forget to take a stool softener when you get home.

Keep us posted on your progress ...

42 mapleg,
First, congratulations on your up-coming Penile Implant Procedure.
I was implanted with the Coloplast Titan in December 2007 after developing ED Post-Prostatectomy in February 2004.
The implant completely corrected my ED and restored both my sex life and the emotional bond with my wife.
I would do it again in a heart-beat!!
Wishing you a lifetime of enjoyment with your new Penile Implant.
Bob
