I just had the AMS700 inplant surgery on 8/6/2026. I expected the swelling and black and blue It's been 6 days since surgery. I feel that the pump seems a little high up in my scrotum. Shouldn't it be between my testicles ? So far haven't tried to cycle yet .

I’m almost at the three year mark with my AMS 700 LGX.
I had the same question, since I thought that placement BETWEEN the testicles and back in the scrotum was the general mode.
Mine is on the right side in front of the testicle. It’s very evident to my eyes, but I’m not sure if it is to others. I learned to pump at eight weeks and haven’t looked back. I’m loving it.
When you feel comfortable with cycling, you need to do a lot of exploring down there and very gingerly until you’re completely healed.

Welcome to the bionic brotherhood Gearjammer . Early recovery can be challenging and confusing because we all heal differently, and can have different expectations and assumptions. And surgeons all have different approaches and protocols. Your surgeon will have specific protocols for recovery and cycling that you should follow. If that hasn't yet been provided you should ask for it. It can also include advice as to whether you should gently pull down on the pump so it doesn't adhere, and help seat it lower.

Pump placement varies a lot. Mine is much the same as Mijudac79. I had a discussion with my doc pre surgery and and he asked me what my dominant hand was. I'm right handed so he said he would put it on the right. Initially I wasn't sure if I liked it there but now I think it's great. Easy access to both the pump bulb and the deflate button. My left ball always hung lower by a fair amount, but now I hang slightly lower on the right and overall it looks more even.

As LGXDownunder said, follow your surgeons recommendations. My pump is pretty much at the bottom of my scrotum. It wasn't initially (I had minimal swelling in the scrotum) and seemed quite high and nestled against my right testicle. My surgeon's instructions were to start gently pulling down on the pump and "massage" it, move it around to break up scar tissue that will try to form. I do remember that I could feel scar tissue and had to work on it every day to pull the pump away from my right testicle. It wasn't easy at first, but I kept at it and I'm very happy with the pump placement now.

If your surgeon didn't give you specific instructions on the pump, I would certainly not hesitate to call and ask.
