Wheelchair pilot, I like that!
Yeah, I have no feeling or muscle control below my ribcage. Everything above that is normal.
I can get an erection as a reflex response from direct stimulation but it really is not functional. Not hard enough for intercourse. Started with VED. Works, yeah, but not convenient. I did date a girl who liked pumping me but that didn't last very long.
Switched to injections. Had a lot of success with that. Then viagra came to the market. I didn't have much success with that. Levitra was better for me but it was 50/50 at best. Failed me too many times.
Tried MUSE but that wasn't much better. So, back to the injections.
Got an ultrasound of my penis and saw all the scar tissue from the injections. Then my urologist recommended that I get an implant. She is an awesome doctor. Really easy to talk to about this. So, she referred me to a doctor who has experience with spinal cord injury and penile Implants.
He recommends a malleable implant, Coloplast Genesis.
I'm scheduled to have the procedure on October 1.
I'm hoping it goes well and I can function like a man again

Thank you for that background info brother, I can relate to the frustration of ED. That path of going through VED, pills, injections etc is common to many of us. Pills didn't work at all for me. Injections were hit and miss. The period before they stopped working altogether was quite short but caused a disproportionate amount of scar tissue (Trimix injections also contained alprostadil (MUSE) among other ingredients). The VED could get me an erection but not good enough for sustained penetration. Hence the implant.

The malleable is a great choice. I researched both IPPs and MPPs and decided on inflatable, mainly for size restoration post RP. If I was getting an MPP I would also choose the Genesis and may well go that route if/when I need a revision. You won't have the extra complications of a pump, tubing and reservoir installed in your scrotum and lower body. You will need to get used to having a larger penis 24/7 but most of us can cope with that .

Given your situation some of the usual advice you may read on here for post op recovery may not be appropriate. For example applying ice to reduce swelling may not be a good idea when you have no lower body sensation. I think there have been a few implanted guys on here with spinal cord injuries but I don't know if any are currently active. But the search function is quite powerful and I would think you could find relevant results.

I looked up Dr Chung and it sounds like you will be in excellent hands.
I'm sure it will go well and you can look forward to functioning like a man again.
The power of an implant on both your physical and psychological well being is amazing in my experience.
