I'm tired of the fight...
Hi. My name is Larry. I am 54 years old. I've been married to the same lady for 36 years. We have 3 grown children and 3 grandchildren. I started having issues with ED at about 51. It started as a oops! What happened sort of thing and thought it may be related to a few too many drinks. It has gotten progressively worse to the point that I cannot get hard at all for penetration and cannot even masturbate. About 2 years ago I saw a urologist and found iut I was low-t at 133 ng. Started on gel..switched to injections which really helped for awhile. Went to a hormone soecialist and tried Clomid which worked awesome for 6 months and all of a sudden crapped out. Switched to a mens clinic and have been on T injections..HCG and Anastrozole for 8 months. My levels run 1100 ng now consistently. Natural erections are still a thing of the past and Viagra does not work. I do trimix which does work and I am grateful but sure miss spontaneity. Weird thing I cannot explain is I have throbbing rock hard erections from about 2 am until I get up. I need some answers if anyone knows. Do I need a sex therapist to deal with failure issues? I don't think it's physical because of my night time erections. Help!
Problems began in 2011 at 51 yo. I did testosterone/HCG/Anastrozole but it didn't fix erections. Pills and tri-mix worked then failed. Had AMS 700 CX installed on Feb 2nd 2016 by Dr. Thomas Walsh at University of Washington.

Try to schedule your sex (which I assume is the point of your post) when you have an erection. Warn your wife that you might wake her up. ( Heard a pastor say
that he would wake his wife sometimes when he was having a raging erection during the night, so you aren't the only one!)
I do that occasionally because I have my best erections from about 4am on until about 7:30. A guy has to do what he has to do.
All the best.

Re: I'm tired of the fight...
I think for the most part, that men with ED are able (for some unexplained reason), to get nocturnal erections...really good ones too! I explained this to my Uro., and he dismissed my frustration and told me that my venous leak prevents me from achieving any erection and therefore natural boners are impossible. Also at other sites with sub-forums about ED, I've been involved in arguments where people try to convince me that since I get nocturnal erections, my ED is all psychological and should consult psyc/sex therapist. After many sleepless nights stressing over all these negative responses, without any encouraging suggestions, I've decided to deal with my body symptoms myself and ignore any future comment or suggestion from anyone who does not live with ED. I don't care how educated or experienced they may be, if they don't live with ED on a daily basis like we do, then it's impossible for them to fully comprehend what we deal with. They mean well and want to be helpful, but they haven't got a clue. That's why I think FrankTalk is the best place to find a therapy program where we all can adjust and tweak a routine of activity (or surgery), that will help get our sex life back. We have in our community here, a lot of 'reliable' men, who have developed working strategies...that work well for them. Search and try everything you can, hopefully you'll find a few things that will help you get your groove back!
As far as the boners in the middle of the night, I think it's because we are relaxed (most likely sleeping), lying flat (blood flow pressure is level), and have to pee really bad. All my unconscious clinching/kegeling throughout the night trying to hold the pee in, has filled my bladder and the pressure has trapped blood in my penis, producing a temporary erection...not from desire or passion, but from not wanting to get up and pee. Once we move from the relaxed/flat position, we loose it because our bladder pressure is shifted. I'm probably wrong in this assumption, but it's the most likely and consistent reason why I get nocturnal erections.
Just my 2 cents
