Hello :)

Postby marco250 » Tue Feb 21, 2012 5:00 am

Hi my name is Marc, 29 years old. I started having problems with ED when I was only 21 years old, because I was drinking too much drinks with Aspartame probably, which is to me
A real sex driver killer. I quit drinking this poison , but then I got to know Viagra, and Viagra made it so hard, that I thought that it was ok.. so continued drinking the soda with aspartame
( I am talking about 3-4 liters a day … for many years)
However, at this moment, the Viagra is working less and less well, especially If I have used a numer of them in the last couple of weeks… seems my body sets up a tolerance for Viagra.
Lately, I ve tried using 200mg of Viagra, but it is just too bad for my head..and also does only work half of the time..
I am now considering an implant, because I am not very eager to try injections or the pump….
I am living in Europe, but I am not sure whether I will want to get the surgery done there…
Looks like there is a lot of info on this board and I am looking forward to find out a lot of things and talks to some ppl !

Thanks,
Marc

Marco,

Before you choose what should be the last resort, is there any other baggage that you could throw overboard? For example, you didn't mention your physical condition and why you were drinking artificially sweetened soft drinks. Are you overweight, do you use recreational drugs or alcohol, do you smoke, do you exercise? At your age, anything that you can quit doing that produces ED should be acted on before considering the ultimate solution. You likely have many less invasive options you should consider. Tell us more, and best wishes in overcoming your ED.

John,

Thanks for your mesage !

My physical condition is fine... I am maybe 5 kilo overweight, but i like to sport, running and weightlifting.
I have already quit smoking and alcohol, maybe 3years ago. This used to help in the past, but at this moment not anymore.

I think i got to the point that even a very healthy lifestyle would not help me anymore...
And this is even more boring... living a really healthy life... without seeing any benefits...

I could also consider injections or the pump... but just thinking of these solutions makes me feel sad...

I think an implant might be the right solution for me, just tired as hell that there will be complications , a much smaller size
or a floppy head or other complications, that cant ever be corrected by an other Dr.....

As a general rule with any treatment plan, always consider trying the less invasive protocol before moving on to the more invasive. I have been using trimix injections since November of 2010 with great success. The "hard reward" quickly overcomes any "icky" feeling you may have about prick-sticking. Best wishes with whatever you decide.

I concur with Greg. Try the most conservative methods first. Oral meds, pumps, injections. I'm now on trimix injections and the rewards are well worth it. The idea of prick-sticking is a matter of mind. Usually you don't feel anything or at the most something minor that is gone in an instant. I know, it's the idea of it, but it is virtually if not pain free, very minor.

Be sure to go to a good urologist who is pro-active in helping you.

I tried injections probably 30 yrs ago and I can tell you it is painless. The uro just grabbed my dick and skinned it back and poked me without me knowing or I probably would have run. A lot less noticeable then insulin injections.

Hi...

I have been thinking about injections, but have read that injections can cause Pyronies disease and also scar tissue.
If i will move to Implants later, maybe i will regret having the injections done, because Pyronies disease and scar tissue
can lead to a much smaller penis post operation...

What do you guys think ??

Also, with an implant i will be able to go all night long, while this is more dificult with injections...

However, i understand that an implant is a very rigurous approach, that is irreversible...So i , and any guy who is
considering this, should think about this very well..

It is true that there is the risk of Pyronies and also scar tissue but that is not for most of the guys. It happens in a small few. Does your insurance cover implant? What is your age? Lots of missing piecies to the puzzle. My insurance will not cover implant so I started injections and I am very happy with the results. I think you should as your Dr what does he think.. One of the dings that we do to prevent scar tissue is to inject on alternating sides and in different spots on the side.

I am not saying that there is not risk. There truely are risk. Best of luck with your decision.

Marc:

I can relate to you as I also have had a history of e d going back to my teens, I understand the mind games this can play on you, believe me. I also know you are very young. Implants are wonderful devices, but I will tell you that a natural erection is preferable, the engorgement of the glans, the heightened sensitivity, these things don't happen with an implant. At your age, you may not think about the sensitivity issue, but as you age, it becomes an issue.

I would encourage you to try to rid your body of any substances that could have an effect and do everything possible to encourage natural erections. In the mean time, while pursuing this path, pills or injections could be used to help you get your mental mojo back. Success breeds confidence! Don't be afraid of injections. I was detecting the start of some scar tissue, which is one of the factors that influenced me in proceeding with the implant. This happens to some men, but you will be able to detect it and if it happens, then adjust your course of action.

Because an implant procedure is not reversible, understand the consequences before proceeding. Everything else can be stopped and something else tried, Once you've gone the bionic route, its the only means available to you, its a life time decision.

Here's wishing you many happy hardon's!!!!!

Thanks for replies guys !

My insurance is covering an implant, but probably only in Europe, while I would prefer to do the surgery in the states...
Honestly, sometimes I am getting so tired of thinking about this sometimes i really prefer
the most rigid approach..because the idea of an implant seems more appealing to me than that of Injections..
However, i am not very familiar with the drawbacks of an implant, so i will have to do some more research..
Also, i will be considering injections.

Dave, the Scar tissue can be detected, but could any starting Pyronies Disease also be detected ?

Dave, with heightened sensitivity for a natural erection, do you mean that it is more difficult to orgasm with an implant
, or that the feeling is just a lot less intense ?

Thanks again !!!

Marc
