Hello From Down Under

Postby Muz061 » Tue Dec 06, 2011 4:13 am

Wish I had found this place 42 months ago straight after my daVinci prostatectomy.
With what my urologist called all the attributes for a full recovery (95% chance of no ED, no meds needed) I just now wish I had been given the reality rather than the fantasy.
Thankful to be in the zero club it still rankles that I should have been counselled to get on the Viagra, Cialis, Levitra as soon as the snake came out of my body - and wasn't. And the party pack of free samples from each of these companies ran to 12 tablets before I was paying for useless pills at $25+ each.
After that where was the advice to get the needle happening and be encouraged there was little pain and plenty of success.
Yes I'm a bit peeved and my otherwise perfect health has suffered as a result, relationship has folded but I am not finished.

Thanks to the brotherhood of encouragers, there is hope even 3.5 years out. Things are slowly improving at last and maybe one day I will be able to rely on the new rebranded "Avigra" by Lily at $6 to get a successful erection and hold my head high. Stuff all the dishonest peddlers of their particular medical success stories, I would rather place my faith in people here. Thanks guys.

Muz:

Welcome!! It is good to have you with us. There is a lot that can be done and the experience here really is life-based. Like you, I had little to no assistance from the medical community; until I found this clan almost 4 years post-surgery. I am also PCa with robotic surgery. I have made very good progress since then and my life has become much more positive and my outlook is much better. It is till a journey for me but as you will discover penile rehab can be fun !!!!!!!!!!!

Now, are you pumping? If not, I would suggest you start. I had not pumped until here and it has been a game changer. Under the Pumping Section of Treatment on this site there is listed the "Prelude". It is a good way to begin and is not expensive. It comes with good instructions and is easy to use. They have 2 sizes depending on you girth not length. It is a clear cylinder and it's great to watch yourself grow. It is a soft vac and not meant for sex (intercourse) but works well for fun afterwards. The second suggestion is to keep using him and often!! It's fun, as you know, and it keeps everybody down there reminded of their responsibilities. You can also use a vac pump and suggest you get one of those after you use the Prelude a while. Suggest you try an adult toy store model first and not use a expensive "medical" model. I have and use a "medical" pump. It is great but it was very expensive even with insurance. The pump and Prelude are different and I think they compliment each other and I still use my Prelude at times. Pumping also helps us maintain our length and keeps tissue stretched and flexible- all good things.

There is at least one other Aussie here. Charlie. He is great- the best and was very helpful and encouraging to me when I first joined. Try to meet him in chat or send him a PM.

If I can help in any way, please contact me. You will like it here. Great support, understanding, experience, humor(which can be bawdy, yeah!) and an acceptance of everyone. We are young, older, straight, gay, undecided, married, single, with significant others, retired, working- just guys with the same issue. Getting hard and moving on and up!!!

Regards,

Dick

Thanks guys, good to feel that others have experienced similar pains, disappointments and frustrations, and that there is a way back. Incidentally, New Zealand (Australia East)

I opted for Trimix (bimix wasn't effective) after the pills weren't sufficient, as a last hope for rehab. Some say pumping is good others not so, for me I made this choice and so far I'm very happy. It feels like the tissue is regenerating and I am feeling nerve twinges during the day which I never did. Early days on this therapy so I'm full of hope. Interesting that there is a dull ache associated with erections and I could swear it's the pressure of the erectile tissue inside the cavity.

I feel for those guys who have chronic venous leak as this option is ineffective leaving only the implant. Trimix is pretty amazing once you get your head around it (sorry no pun!). :)

Muz:

Welcome! Glad to have someone else from down under that I can harass about falling off the globe! Charlie and I have had many a laugh together in the chatroom. It's been a while, I need to get back there.

Don't "feel" too much for us guys with leaks, you might discover a huge boner! I became bionic 9 months ago, and I'm loving it. As far as getting information here, you will find it. And it is pretty much unbiased, none of us stands to gain monetarily for helping out our brothers. The only thing we get is a big grin every time someone gets a great erection! We accept anyone's sexuality, our only concern is getting the erection, not what you want to do with it!

I got to go to work, hope to catch you on the chat sometime!
