My name is Chris, 2 years ago I had my prostate removed due to cancer. Since then I have tried all the pills for ED, the injections, and the combination of pills and injections. I have not had any success with anything. The best I could achieve was a partial erection at about 40 to 50 percent. So now I have only one choice left, the penile implant. That is why I joined frank talk. Looks like there are a lot of men here who have them, and I started reading some of the stories here for information. I am looking at later this year to have the surgery. Thanks, Chris

Welcome Chris!

You are where I was at about a year ago this time. I'm now almost 11 months bionic. I posted a lot of information in the implant blog under the title LGX Log. I start with pictures and measurements before and went on from there, the good, the bad, and the ugly! Read away and if you want more info from me, just PM me.

Welcome Chris,

I developed ED in February 2004 after undergoing an Open Radical Prostatectomy and, like yourself, did not respond
satisfactotily to the "standard" ED Treatment Modalities.
Finally, I was implanted with an IPP (Inflatable Penile Prosthesis) in December 2007 and, thankfully, it completely
corrected my ED and restored both my sex life and the emotional intimacy with my wife of 45 years.
I am proud to be a fellow member of the Brotherhood of Bionic Boners with Dave and other FT members.
Let me reassure you that there is a very good chance for a full and pleasureable sex life Post-Prostatectomy!!
I would be happy to share my experiences and answer any questions you may have about the Implant.
Please feel free to PM me at any time.
Best of luck.

Bob

Thanks guys for your words of support. I am glad I found this site and are talking to men who have gone through the whole process. I been reading every post. It's been 2 years of frustration and some pain especially with the injections. So I am more than ready for the implants. I am a 60 year old Vietnam Veteran who also have daibetes, hyper tension, beside the post pc problems. Current PSA score is less than .01. I know that diabetes and high blood pressure and their medications can also affect erections too. The government says I could have been exposed to Agent Orange which might be the cause of my problems when I was in Vietnam. I am excited that there are guys here who have these implants and are having a normal sex life again. Thanks, Chris

Hi Chris, There is a note of optimism in your words, you're probably a pretty tough guy and normally don't quit or back off when problems get deep and heavy in your life. I am that way, but had gotten very discouraged in trying to figure out what to do next about my ED problem. I found FT, and there are guys here that give of themselves a lot to help and advise. I found a solution I believe in injections, just getting satarted and it works!! But the point is, had I not come here, who knows if a solution was in the picture for me? I'm grateful there was. So glad you're here, and hope you continue sharing your story and your plans to move ahead.

Chris:

A couple of comments. You are of my era. But for the grace of God (and a high lottery number), I would have been a Viet Nam vet also. I honestly told my son I'm not sure what I would have done if I had been drafted. By 1970, we knew what was happening and it wasn't pretty. Anyone who serves in the military has my utmost gratitude. Anyone who served in Viet Nam has a double dose. Thank you.

Now, regarding your pursuit of a solution, a word of encouragement. Keep on pursuing. Whatever ends up being your solution, I can only tell you that when you can reach down and grab a nice solid erection and not have to worry about it going flat at the wrong time, it does marvelous things to your self esteem and your outlook on life. Here's hoping you have many a boner in your future!

From a practical point of view, I've tried everything out there, pills, pumps, shots, and finally the implant. I can give you my experiences on them all.

Dave
