Hello all,
Was wondering if I could get some advice as I'm a relatively recent ED sufferer. It started about 8 months ago. I first noticed it one weekend when I got with this girl one night (everything was fine, normal) and the next morning tried again but couldn't get it up all the way. I kind of shrugged it off that maybe it was just fatigue. But it kept happening over the next few weeks with the same girl. I was able to get a lose dose of sildenafil and that worked great.
Since the initial event, I've noticed that I no longer get random erections during the day and while I do have some erections at night, they're maybe at around 75-80% where they used to be. Over the last few months I've also experienced a little bit of back pain with some occasional numbness in my toes which is making me believe maybe my S1 nerve or blood supply to the penis is partially blocked. I went to the doctor and discussed it. He ordered xrays and blood work. Xrays came back pretty normal minus a small curvature in the lumbar spine. Blood work came back normal. My insurance isn't great right now so that's definitely holding me back a little bit from further care. I initially thought the problem was psychological but after not getting random erections and impaired nighttime erections, I figured it must be physical. I can still get an erection with masterbation but it is definitely more difficult to get aroused than it used to be and firmness is again around 75% of what it used to be just less than a year ago. I'm curious if anyone has read/experienced anything like this before or if you have any advice on what I should do next. Thank you for the help. Glad there is a forum out there for us.

Welcome to the forum, eme262.
It would help us if you gave us some of your history in a signature (but please don't take this as a criticism, your question is well formed.) Your age, level of sexual history (lots of sex i the past or if you are fairly new to the activity, stuff like that - your age, general state of health, etc.)
I am afraid I do not have much to illuminate your situation. It does parallel mine history, but my ED progression was over decades. Can you think of any event that could have triggered the progression?
It does sound like this rather sudden onset must have a precipitating cause, which, if found, could be treated or cured. In any event, if you lo longer get regular nocturnal (or daytime) erections, investing in a vacuum device to maintain penile elasticity and blood flushing through your tissues might be a good investment.
Toe tingling might (just guessing here) be a sign of neuropathy. Many things might cause that, but diabetes is one that can also cause ED. But the sudden onset causes me to question that.
When I first joined FrankTalk, I took a couple weekends to read through two and a half years of posts/threads with titles that interested me and appeared informative. I recommend this to you. It will give you a better basis for forming questions and understanding the answers. This will also help get your medical team to accept you as a contributing partner in the decision-making.
That membership in the team might be very important to you, as you seem to have a mystery.
I recommend documenting your size (length and girth) by careful measurement and photographs. Make sure your measurement protocol is repeatable (you will want to measure after surgery also). The most widely used measurement is to press a measuring tool against your pubic bone just above your penis, compressing the pubic fat pad as much as possible and measuring (straight) to the tip of your penis (not following the curve around to the tip, but just straight out like a shoe store measures your foot to the tip of your toe - but you can follow the curve of your penis' shaft.) Girth is measurement of circumference at the midpoint of your penis. Some choose to find the girthiest part, instead. Usually the two points are the same or very close.
Size loss generally occurs slowly, but like I said before, I believe V.E.D. therapy is helpful in maintaining size and health. Just be careful not to overdo it.
Regards.

Sorry to hear you are having ED issues. Glad you are seeking help. If the doctor you went to was your primary care physician, I suggest you find a urologist who specializes in men's health or male sexual, dysfunction. They are generally the only ones who have the knowledge for these types of problems. Even then I had to go to a number of them before I ended up with the right doctor who helped me. Best wishes.
I am 64 and had ED from a VL. Implanted by Dr. Ronald Anglade in Atlanta on 9/18/17. I have an AMS700LGX 21 cm via a Penoscrotal incision. Very happy with results. 6" soft and 6 3/4” x 5 5/8” hard.
72Yr.young sprout deady to get back in the game!
I would like to start by expressing:
1. A profound Thank You to all of you who contribute so much to this forum and provide such a wonderful service to those of us that are new on this forum (doesn't count the time lurking).
2. Saying ditto to most of the historical experiences I have read about here on Frank Talk. I have had much of the same experience in term of the progression and treatment of E.D..
I am 72 years old and am blessed to be healthy. I am 5”8” and weight 162pds.and exercise regularly including spin classes. I have not had prostrate problems.
My ED has become a serious concern in the last 6-9 months. Since 65YO, I started to have occasional ED, I started treatment with ED pills occasionally, then more often, and then with stronger doses. They became unreliable about 18-24 months ago. I have also used VED, penile rings, Muse and then Trimix. My urologist gave me a minimal initial dose of trimix about 18 months ago.It resulted in a priapism that was treated in an emergency room. The degradation of effectiveness happen quickly. I have now used 85 units of an elephant strength dosage (80/3/25) resulting in only engorgement. I have not used bimix, quad mix or now I believe there is a 5 ingredient mix I haven’t used.
I have been married to a patient, loving and kind wife for 44 years who is the same age as me. I don’t know why she keeps me around. Certainly it is not for the great sex of the last 5 months as we have not had penetrative sex in that period of time. Even though our libidos are not a match, (I liked sex daily when it was an option). The good news was that she was able to have several “happy endings”-well three routinely…., but who's counting, in a session. I miss that a lot.
I currently have some curvature and loss of length that is a relatively newly acquired “possession”. I will attempt to attach pictures, I am currently using a Opt-T=Vac brand VED with an 8” tube. It doesn’t have a pressure gauge but is supposed to max out at 17, the max units of mercury for safety. In the past, maybe 18 months ago, I used to use a 10” VED tube as my penis scratch the end of the 8” tube. I attribute this “gift” of loss of length to the fibrosis related to the tri mix injections.
I can provide most detail, if necessary, later.
I have an appointment tomorrow with a recommended urologist that is a Men’s Health specialist with Kaiser in southern California.
My questions at this point:
1. Are there participants in this forum that can give me any recommendation for a world class Kaiser Urologist in So. Cal.? I have only seen one active participant that mentions his experience with Kaiser.
2. I have not ruled out a non-Kaiser Urologist. I do have Medicare and expect they would pay the majority of an IPP should I go that route which is looking more and more likely, i.e. setting an implant.
3. I have been told that there are misconceptions or possibly a difference in semantics about the penile implant extending into the glans. I am told that the implants are suppose to be fitted to completely fill the cavernosa.
I have read discussions about this but am still not clear. I, too, want to avoid a floppy glans.
4. I already did a signature but it appears to have disappeared. I will redo it when I have more time.

Odd....how did post "72Yr.young sprout deady to get back in the game!" get inserted in the middle of the "27 year old, new member" thread?
