Welcome to the forum Mwinston222.

It would be nice. The sublingual dosage of many drugs is lower than swallowing the same drug. Nasal spray might even be better and faster-working.

Good question. I wonder why such has not been developed? Or, if it has, not marketed? Perhaps fear that a man might overdose himself (it is simple to count out a single pill and tempting to squeeze a longer spray)?

What brings you to the forum? Have you figured out how to create a signature?

Great site. All FDA sprays are put in fda certified metered dosing devices to avoid overdosing. I’m hoping to gain marketing knowledge on a need for a more efficient and convenient product for ED

Yes, but it is so easy to make a second squirt.

I hear you on the value of a better delivery/dosing method. Oral medications in general are very inefficient as they have to pass through so much digestive tract before they get to a point where they can filter into the bloodstream (those that do their work in the bloodstream, of course).

Sublingual administration of medications is very efficient. Substances diffuse into the blood through tissues under the tonque. Cardiovascular drugs, steroids, etc. I've let Viagra "melt" under my tonque and found it absorbs into the bloodstream very quickly.

Exactly right. The drug can go directly into your bloodstream rather than passing through your digestive tract first, where it would be diluted and perhaps partly digested. I think the only ways to get it into your bloodstream quicker would be inhaling or injecting.

Liquid suspensions of Viagra are available, for example, from University Compounding Pharmacy in San Diego. The liquid contains 25 mg of Viagra in 1 ml of liquid. You put it under your tongue and hold the liquid in your mouth until the Viagra absorbs.
