Dear All
I was delighted to discover this forum. Six months ago I had Radical Prostatectomy due to cancer which was thankfully contained within the prostate. I underwent a " nerve sparing" surgery and my surgeon is promoting concept of penile rehabilitation which I follow. Of course I am pleased that the cancer was removed completely but found the initial urinary incontinence very, very difficult but thankfully this is now a minor problem. While one is informed about impotence as a result of the surgery ( lasting several months after the surgery and for some permanently) I am finding this to be exceptionally difficult to bear. I am 64 year old gay man and have been sexually very active right up to the surgery, I am otherwise very healthy and very fit but inability to have good quality sex is causing me great deal of distress. It seems I am not alone and I so hope that by joining this group I might learn from experiences of others and hope to share my own feelings and experiences with other members on here.
