hello
I just joined today and I have ED as a result of a RP for prostate cancer. I now feel like I have 3 kids that listen when they feel like it. I am 50 and had a nerve sparing procedure last November. I sometimes get erections with or without drugs. I prefer not using them but sometimes need help. I can orgasm but it is dry. Very wierd at first but I save a fortune in cleenx and my wife is no longer afraid to pick up socks. My wife misses a wet orgasm but what can I do. We had a great and very wild sex life prior to surgery and are getting back into it. I hear it can take up to 18 months for things to get back to normal. Bad part of surgery is I lost some size. We use toys and have been told the tongue improved, guess as a result of necessity. On the posative my orgasms are much more intense and last longer. The bright side of PC.

The lost size is part and parcel of the RP, there are 1 to 1.5 inches of penis (urethra) that get cut out when the prostate goes. You were lucky to be able to have a nerve sparing RP and have it work more less.

I had a RP 13 years ago, not nerve sparing, and things quit working on the erection front and never came back except for injections. Now the injections don't work so I am waiting for an implant to be scheduled.

Good luck with things as they are, I wish you and your wife the best. She will get used to you having dry orgasms and then you will be fine.

Welcome to the group.

Most URO's recommend daily Cialis after robotic surgery ... the pills are not so much for erections as they are for restoring blood flow, which over time will help restore your erection. A good place to purchase the generic versions - alldaychemist.com

I hear it can take up to 18 months for things to get back to normal.

The URO playbook says it can take up to two years ... a long time to wait on "maybe" ... truthfully very few guys fully restore natural erections. I don't mean to dash your hopes on (erection) recovery ... but many URO's paint a picture that simply is not true in the real world.

Bad part of surgery is I lost some size

Your URO should already recommended VED (vacuum erection device) as part of your (penis) rehab. This will help you recover the size loss from surgery. I lost about 1 1/2" after my surgery, and I was able to regain the loss due to daily VED sessions ... takes about 6 months. The VED also helps with recovering your erections. The old adage "use it or lose it" is so true ...

Dude, Im a PCa guy as well that had surgery. Your doing well if you have erections with and or without pills. Sounds like your going to have a great outcome. Keep working at it. I moved to injections to start the engine. Thing are better for me but not as good as your doing.
