New to ED

Hi all.
New to ED, thanks to non-nerve sparing RALP in Jan 2023. Before surgery, my wife and I agreed, along with the surgeon, that our goals (in order of importance) were 1) get rid of cancer, 2) have urinary control, and 3) maintaining sexual function. I had an aggressive cancer (Gleason 9) that was contained with the prostate but involved both nerve bundles.

So here we are 4 months later, and it looks like we achieved goals 1 and 2 at the expense of 3. I started penile rehab a few weeks after catheter removal, pumping daily (thanks to Victoria at atouchysubect.com). I’d say I lost nearly an inch of my length due to the surgery, and 3 months of pumping has helped to restore some of that. We tried sex using the Vacurect and constriction ring… it works somewhat, but my wife is not thrilled with the cold, hinged penis effect and it’s a bit uncomfortable for me wearing a ring tight enough to maintain an erection.

On to injections: I just obtained my first batch of Trimix T-106 (30-1-25). For those interested, the way I got my prescription was all handled by Olympia pharmacy. I contacted them, they set up a telemedicine call, then they called back with my choices of how much to order. I literally had the Trimix the next day (shipped overnight) at a cost of $327 for 2 x 5ml vials, plus $54 for the telemedicine call. You might be wondering why I didn’t get the prescription though my urologist… that’s another story all together, but basically she relocated her practice across the state shortly after my surgery. I was going to do my 3 month follow-up with her PA, but about two weeks before that I got a letter in the mail saying she had left too! (On my own until I find another urologist!) Fortunately I will be seeing my regular doctor next month, and we’ll get the PSA results then.

I had the exact reaction to pumping so I switched to injections of Bimix. Welcome to this site. Lots of good advice here.

Uhg - nerve-sparing RALP and that three-point goal list brings on my PTSD.

Gleason 7 on my biopsy, Gleason 6 they said upon the 'bench test' after removal of my prostate. It was 'nerve-sparing' - but they had to take some dendrites (?) on one side. I too had the 'aggressive' cells, my father died of renal cancer that I suspect was caused by prostate cancer metastasizing.

I don't know anything about injections so I can't help there. But I can tell you that there's a 'nuclear option' that's worked for a lot of us here.
