Hey everyone,
I found Franktalk over on Reddit on the penile implant subreddit. Looks to be a wealth of information here.
I’m 65, gay, in a 43 year relationship. In 2015 I underwent chemo & radiation for colorectal cancer and that was the beginning of my ED journey. Viagra/Cialia/Levitra helped in the beginning but didn’t work long. I saw a urologist in 2018 who tried injections and proclaimed by penis dead with no hope — and certainly didn’t provide any information about implants. I continued with Cialis daily which did not provide enough power for intercourse but could fluff enough for receiving oral.
A Facebook friend got an implant in 2021 and that provided me the encouragement to seek out more information. My PCP referred me to a urologist at Stanford who has done quite a number of implants. It took 4 months to get an evaluation appointment which went well and we scheduled a surgery date this past June.
Unfortunately when we were in the OR they couldn’t place a catheter due to scar tissue growth from the radiation so they did a roto-rooter thing to remove it. I now pee like a racehorse! So, with followups and all it looks like I should get on the calendar for sometime in October or early November.
Meanwhile, I’ve been using a VED for the last year and have regained nearly all the atrophy from the last few years. I’m almost where I was in size from 10 years ago.
I’m looking forward to 2024!
