I’ve been a long-time lurker and recently signed up to start asking questions and hopefully start engaging.
61 years old and I’ve been dealing with moderate ED for about ten years. Thyroid, testosterone and some experimental treatments all kept me in the game – with some occasional Trimix.
Last month, I had some minor curvature and went promptly to the urologist. Yup, Peyronie’s but early. Turns out 80%-strength erections have their own risk; or maybe it was to 500th injection of Trimix.
My urologist suggests that there are only a few clear treatments for Peyronie’s: Xiaflex, traction, Pentox and an implant. Xiaflex works well for some, works a little for some, and has dreadful side effects for a very few. Traction works well for some, works a little for some, and has no real risks. Pentox works a little for some. And the Implant is the gold standard, works great for almost everyone – but it is also the last great journey.
So, I’m trying traction and Pentox for the next eight weeks. And trying to decide the next big step.
Thanks for making this forum.

Welcome to the board! I got PD a couple of years ago. I was at 47 degrees and was able to reduce it down to 35 using traction. Pain during sex caused ED for me. My doctor had me use traction (I use a Restore-X device) and low does Cialis daily and Pentoxifylline twice a day to increase blood flow to help the micro-tears heal (from the traction). I hit a plateau at 35 degrees and started Xiaflex. The process for xiaflex involves the doctor inducing an erection to mark the point , another injection to bring the erection down, a nerve block in the pubic area, a local at the point of injection, and then the xiaflex is injected into the plaque. This gets repeated two days after the first to complete the cycle. Then a few days afterward, you will have to start "modeling" your penis by gently stretching it straight, and then again opposite of the curvature. This should be done at least twice a day -- both flaccid and erect. It is important NOT to masturbate or have sex because there is a high risk of penile fracture for the next 4-5 weeks!! Erections will not feel very good during this time. I am on the 4th cycle and have seen only a 3 degree reduction since starting xiaflex -- even when combined with traction. I am going to do one more cycle later this month to see where I stand, and if there is no more improvement I plan on moving forward with an implant.

I got PD earlier this year. Along with loss of length, girth, and curvature.
Sex is still possible but limited because of this.
I have regained some length and girth with the use of VED, twice daily for 10-20 minutes. Although I still have curvature.
I recently started Verapamil injections. The Verapamil treatments seem much simpler than what was just described for Xiaflex.

One thing that I am learning is that the understanding and treatment options for Peyronie's are limited.
The medical community identifies some promising treatment, some modest treatments and some good treatment.
As I mentioned above, the good treatments seem to be Xiaflex, traction, Pentox and the implant.
I definitely recommend the traction - it seems to have good results for about 50% of men and has no major risks. My urologist suggested that at the least, it would halt further curvature and loss of size. Some people even do both traction and VED.
I understand that Verapamil is a fairly modest treatment - effective, but less effective than the Xiaflex - but the Xiaflex seems intense.
I have heard good results from both - but for now, I'm avoiding the Xiaflex.
Best of luck with the treatments.
