I recently had prostate cancer and opted for a prostectomy. I am just now beginning to adjust to the changes, both physically and emotionally. I heard this a great place to start and, not only get information, but support.

I am not a cancer survivor, but I am a former ED victim. There are a lot of guys on here that have been down a similar path as you are now walking. They and the rest of us will give you the greatest moral support I have ever witnessed. You have joined a truly wonderful group. Welcome!

Usetobe:
Welcome to FrankTalk. You will find that many of us on this site are recovering from the after effects of Prostate Cancer. The physical and emotional impact of a radical prostectomy is difficult for many people to understand – especially your spouse (at least in my case). I have been logging on to this site religiously since November 2012 and it has really helped me realize that my emotions and frustrations are not unique. At times I have shared some of the testimonials with my wife because much of what has been written by many of the members echoed exactly what I was feeling but lacked the words to clearly express them to her. There is a lot of material throughout this site. Not all of the material has been filed in the correct Discussion Forum so browse through all of the forums. You can read “My Story” at
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2314 located in the Implant section.
Good luck and you will see that there are a multitude of thoughtful and well informed guys that will help you through this chapter in your life.
Regards,
Woodworker57

usetobe , I don't know how recently you had your surgery , if I were you , instead of wasting money on pills , VED , or Muse I would go straight to injections . It took me three years to realize nothing else was going to work , next month will be three years since surgery . I started injections two weeks ago , and haven't quit smiling since , frankly I don't care if natural erections ever come back right now .
It doesn't take long at all to dial in the proper dose .......shoot up 10-15 minutes later , it's like you were 19 again !
There is SO much information and knowledge on here , don't be afraid to ask as many questions as you need to , and there's no such thing as a dumb question .

usedtobe, Welcome to FT. Like you I am a PCa guy as well. This site is great for giving you ideas on how to get back in the game. I also recommend that you visit healingwell.com and go to the prostate cancer section.. All the guys there are PCa guys. On that site they deal with the other issues of Pca treatment. Many of the guys there are also members here.

I had radiation and seeding in 2012 along with Lupron which did a number on my sex life too. I found the book "Making Love Again" by Virginia and Keith Laken helpful in that Keith had a lot of the same emotions that I had going though ED etc and I think my wife got some insights into my emotions by reading the book although she got turned off by some of their solutions, but it gave us a few things to talk about.
