3+ Weeks Post Op in Northern Virginia

Postby Jeanluc3 » Mon Feb 25, 2013 1:19 pm

Greetings everyone. I came across this website after doing a search late last summer for forums that speak to the issue of ED and especially penile implants.

I am a 65 y/o very fit single guy and recent implantee ( AMS 700 LGX MS - 01/31/13 ).

My ED began in late 2010. The cause is debatable but was likely spinal injury as a result of a degenerated disk (C3-C4). In June of 2011 I was diagnosed with Pc and after research and consultation with my Oncologist, I decided that Brachytherapy was to be my preferred treatment. Had the seed implants in July and that resulted in serious ED issues. I had used all the PD-5 inhibitors to failure, then moved on to Bi-mix/Trimix (4 different formulas) until that too failed to produce the desired results. I might add that I personally experienced significant pain with the injections both at the injection site and a dull throbbing after ejaculation that required copious amounts of ibuprofen to relieve.

Had the procedure done at Walter Reed in Bethesda. My pre surgery length was 6.5 inches - (7” with VED) after surgery I was 5 in BPL. While I wouldn’t describe my recovery as a “cake walk”, I certainly haven’t had the difficulty that others have written about here. I had the surgery on a Thursday, was released from the hospital on Friday and on Sunday walked about a half mile and drove to the grocery store later that afternoon. I was fully active by Tuesday. I went to the gym on Thursday and did stairclimber and elliptical and worked with light weights. I was left “fully” inflated, but not “fully erect” (whatever that means) after surgery until my two week check-up. I was then cleared to start exercising the device and cleared to get back to my normal physical routine. Ran a mile that day.

I’ve been exercising the device several times a day, and have some soreness in my shaft and scrotum but thanks to this forum had expected that. Surprisingly I’m beginning to recoup some of my original length - had expected that would take more time. I could go on but for the sake of brevity I’ll stop here.

I've gotten a great deal of surreptitious help and support from reading the many postings here on the forum, but would like to especially thank LGX_man and Hard Drive for the patience and detailed responses.

For anyone who would like to email me outside this forum my email is: jeanluc-three@hotmail.com.

Thanks to the well wishers - I am now past week 4 post op and unless something goes south this will be my last post. I’ve finally been able to pump enough to get the burning / stinging sensation that a number of folks have described. I’m pleased with my increasing length from BPL 5x5 two weeks ago to BPL 5 1/2" x 5 today (on my way back to 6 1/2" -7"). Hopefully I will continue to gain, but I am so pleased that I can have an erection at will that gains are almost secondary. Any questions give me a yell….

Many on this website will want to know if you reach that seven inch mark, so please dont let this be your last post.

Any 65 year old guy who is as active as you has a lot to say about the functioning of a successful implant.

Many guys like me still have raised eyebrows about taking such drastic action with our most prized body part as a man.

I hope you post on.

I'm now coming-up on 6 weeks post op and things are still going well. I'm a little sore around the gland and shaft but thanks to others on here who have gone before me, I expected that. I seem to have plateaued for the moment in getting my length back, which I'm impatient with, but it's fun to keep working at it. See my doctor for my 6 week check-up on Friday.

More as the weeks go by....

I am now past the magical 6 weeks and my Doctor said I was cleared to reengage. I've done that and it was great! Latest measurements are BPL 6 1/16 x 5 1/16 (5 Flaccid) Almost back to where I began.... :D

I am now 7 weeks post op and things are still improving. I am holding at a little over 6" BPL and have increased to 5 4/8" girth. There continues to be soreness around the gland, but that is a result of vigorously exercising the device.

You will get back to where you were, probably faster than you think. I am now just 5 months post-op and have hit the magical 7" BPL mark. Not ready to use at that length but works well at 6 and 3/4.

Some things for you to put in your list of things to expect. As your implant is used the number of pumps to full inflation may go down, this is a result of easier pumping allowing your to move more fluid at each pump.

If you were of the time where your penis grew in length significantly when it became ererct you have probably noticed that your new flacid lenth is greater than it was before. A note to tell you that this length can increase as working the implant increases your erect length.

Over 5 months I have gone from 3" flacid prior to surgery to 5" flacid after surgery to now 5 1/2" flacid. My after surgery erect length has gone from 6" to just now 7". Have gone from 40 pumps maximum at about 3 1/2 months posts to 34 pumps maximum at 5 months post. Each pump does more and is generally easier.
