a new guy with ed

Hi,

I'm a 59 year old happily married man. About 7 years ago, I began to not perform occasionally. I mentioned this to my doctor who discovered I had low T levels. I was put on T replacement and felt a lot better and hornier, but the ed continued. It seemed that either I could not get a hard on, or it disappear before penetration. The latter is my current problem. Further examinations reveal no medical reasons for the ed, so I and my doctor concluded it was performance anxieties. (Some mornings I wake up to a good stiff wood.) Anyways, the problem was sporadic. Some days I have no trouble at all and have good control, other times I can penetrate, but come too soon, still others I am too soft to penetrate. It is frustrating. One night I did not respond, so my wife and I just laid there. I softly fondled myself, got hard, and was able to perform quite well. (I was very nervous about losing it, but I did not.) My wife has been supportive.

I found out about cock rings and I an exploring them now. I found the ring page to on this site and this is how I ended up here. I have some questions about them, but I will ask them on the general info page.

egsmith,
It's more likely you have blood flow issues ... rather than just "performance anxieties". Have you tried Viagra, Cialis, etc.?

Is this doctor your family doctor or a Urologist? ... Yes it makes a big difference. Have you tried VED? (vacuum pump) as this would really help along with a proper ring. A URO can set you up with a VED via Insurance (if covered) ... or you can find a cheap one at Amazon.

Bionic,
Thanks for the input.

1. The doctor is a GP.
2. OI have not tried meds for several reasons. One is cost, my insurance does not cover them. The second is that I prefer not to use drugs until necessary.
3. As for blood flow problem, there are two reasons I would be doubtful. One is that my attitude affect performance. The day I got the ring, I thought, great I don't need to worry about performance. If I don't rise to the occassion, I have this ring. That night I was great and I did not need to use the ring. Yet if begin to doubt, "may be I will lose it" I tend to.
The second reason is that many a morning I have a nice morning wood. :D

egsmith,
If you really want to address your Ed issues you need to see a Urologist ...

As for meds ... you can get (generic - Tadalafil) Daily Cialis for about $1 a day at alldaychemist.com. Lots of guys here use that site ...

I would still recommend a VED setup ... you can read thru the posts in the Pump section.
