Been reading some of your comments, finding out a lot of new information. Going to have radical laparoscopic prostatectomy soon and was wondering about the erectile problems that will happen afterwards. The doctors gave me a VED to use later, but haven't said much else. Any experiences with the VED or other methods to restore erections would greatly be appreciated. I'm 60 if that makes any difference.

One of the things that the VED does is bring some blood back into your penis. Many of us that have had a prostatectomy have found we have lost some length. The other use of the VED is to pull blood into the penis to get an erection. In most cases a cock ring must be slipped on the penis to keep the blood in and to stay hard. Some guys are very happy with them. I was not successful with the VED for sex purposes. That being said it was worth the try. You mentioned that you Dr gave you one. Most of us had to purchase ours. The Medical Company versions are very expensive.

I hope that this answers your question.

I do hope that you Dr will be proactive in getting you back in the saddle.

My surgeon gave me some samples of Viagra and Cialis before my surgery to see which I would prefer to use afterwards. I was already starting to have some issues with ED sporadically and he said that afterwards I would have problems. Start now so that you can see which ones work before the prostectomy. That and the vac tube will be where you start after the surgery. I was on Cialis immediatly after the surgery and progressed through the different attempts to regain function until I finally opted for the implants a few weeks ago. Good luck with your surgery and let me know if you have any questions.
