Hi everyone on FrankTalk
I have for the past year been reading a number of threads here and thought it would be a good place for me to share my story.
I am 31-years old, from Saskatchewan, Canada. I have had sexual problems (venous leak) since sometime just before my 16th birthday. For many years, I lacked total libido as well as impotence, until I was able to purchase Levitra pills from Mexico while I was in Mexico. Those pills worked very well, unbelievably well at the time. Fast forward many years later, 7-months ago after being told I was the normal ranges of testosterone and everythign else, I was diagnosed with hypogonadism. My testosterone levels were 7.1 ng/dl or 199 pmol/l. I also had an abnormal TSH reading of 4.5 miu/L. At the same visit, earlier in the day I had a doppler ultrasound done in which showed I had a venous leak.. with the systolic velocity (inbound) of a "65-year old heart patient." After reviewing my previous bloodwork done by another doctor, he then discarded his findings with the doppler and leaned towards testosterone as being my issue.
I probably have a genetic condition which has not yet been identified. Recently, had a bone scan, a karyotype (waiting for results), as well as a full thyroid panel.
Doctor put me Clomid 7 months ago. Initially it raised my T to over 800 or 28.1 ng/dl! I started feeling ways that I never felt since I was 14 or 15, when the problem started. to the penis increased tremendously and I had several continuous days of hard morning erections. Unfortunately, it was very short lived and it was likely due to my estrogen skyrocketing to over 260 pmol/l! Just over a month ago I started anastrozole (Arimidex) with Clomid, it is lowering my Estrogen but still not feeling good. I cannot guarantee myself erections with viagra since starting Clomid! Then there are days without any drugs I can get erections, though these are very rare.
I will admit folks, I am starting to feel it is not going to work. Over half my life of venous leak which was very likely due to low testosterone has probably caused me damage. I read on some forums that people believing the penis atrophies but can rebuild itself over time with normalized testosterone levels, but I really am not so sure. I am afraid of losing my relationship over this.
At my last doctors visit- urologist to be specific- he mentioned that penis injections would be the next step, as well as switching to testosterone with hcg to maintain fertility. I know changes can't happen overnight, they take weeks, months or even a year, but I am becoming so sceptical that I will ever be normal.
I know on here I've read others who have had venous leaks their entire life. For me, my entire life started at late 15th year, until then, I was able to have sex and get hard erections.
My question if anyone can answer, do you know anyone who had a similiar condition to me and has recovered?
Have those with lifelong venous leaks had a good hormone panel done to rule out causes like hypogonadism? I find doctors in general to be uneducated about hormones, unless its a specialist.
Thanks you for reading my post. I would be pleased to share my information and also learn more about others. Hopefully, together, us who are in a similar boat can help each other!

Hello. Hypogonadal member with venous leak.
31 Years old. ED since I was 15/16. Diagnosed with hypogonadism/venous leak at 31. On Clomid/Arimidex mix for HRT. Cured for a week then it stopped. In process to find a solution. Lifelong nightmare but I waited a decade + to get help.
