Greetings to all.
On Tuesday, October 4th, I underwent a robotic radical prostatectomy. I had a Gleason score of 7, with the cancer in just one side. The post operation path report confirmed that that was the extent of cancer in the prostate and surrounding tissue (lymph). I'm now experiencing the pleasantness of the Foley catheter. If all's well, it should be coming out tomorrow. Maybe then my swollen scrotum will return to normal.
I'm glad that there is such a forum, and hope to benefit from the experiences of others, and lend whatever I can to other members.

Welcome. This is a good place and there is a lot of experience here. I'm also PCa with robotic surgery and a Gleason of 7 ( maybe) mine was in at least 2 places. Getting the cath out is a big step- I had never had one before but, I must say, it was inconvenient but OK. Once out you can take the next steps towards recovery. Any incontinence issues are next. We all usually leak a bit for a while and some guys have a bigger challenge. If your doc did not have you doing Kegels before surgery; I would suggest you consider starting them as soon as the cath is out. They do help most of us.
Then the big "fun" issue- Penile Rehab. This will become a time to begin to wake all the nerves and parts down there and get them going again. Your sex drive should return soon and- as soon as it does use him often. You will most probably not, at this point, get hard. Don't worry about it and go for the gold. One of the biggest surprises of my life was when I had my first post-surgery climax and he was almost totally soft. But, man it felt so good!!!
If your doc has not talked about a penile rehab plan, discuss with him/her as the cath comes out and slowly get started. Under the Treatments Section of this site is a section on Pumps. Look thru it and I suggest you consider the "Prelude". It is a soft device that will bring blood back into your shaft and get you started. I had never heard of it before I joined this clan, got one, and love it. It is not good for sex but it is fun to see him rise thu the cylinder. It comes in 2 sizes based on your girth not length and is not expensive. It's a nice place to begin.
If you have any ?'s please contact me thru PM (private message) or respond here. I will be glad to assist in any way I can and will be willing to talk via telephone if that would help. Many men here have traveled your path and we all have slightly different experiences; but we share, support, joke and celebrate each others progress. This is a good place.
Hope to meet you in the chatroom at some point.
Regards,
Dick

Foley is the unwanted step child that flits around here at FT. Nobody really likes him but he does serve a purpose.
