I had Da Vinci prostatectomy surgery on Sept 6th, 2011 after being diagnosed with PCa 6 weeks earlier. I found myself on this forum due to many Google searches and visits to other forums trying to get info and guidance concerning ED, which I’m not receiving from my urology team.
Here are my stats:
-June 2010 – PSA 3.4
-July 2011 - PSA- 7.6
-Biospy July 26, 2011
-Gleason 3+4=7 pre-op and confirmed post-op-both lobes involved
-Prostate size 38 grams
-5%-Proportion of prostate involved by tumor
-Age 55
-Nerves spared on left side only due to perineural invasion on the right side
-Extra-prostatic extension right posterior
-Margins uninvolved by invasive carcinoma
-3 lymph nodes clear
-No sign of spread to bones or other organs
P.S.—I have a 2001 Red convertible Corvette that my wife and I love to take on long road trips.

Steve,
Welcome to Frank Talk! So glad to have another member of the Louisiana Limp Dick Caucus. I live in Baton Rouge just across the river from Cajun Jeff (Corvetteman). We'll have to make plans to get together soon. It's always a hoot when we meet in person.
Look forward to seeing you in the Chat Room.

Steve,
Welcome to FT you will find this to be a safe place. You really need to hook up with Greg and Jeff, both are great friends to all of us here. I had the pleasure this year (twice with Jeff). They made me fly across the U.S. to do it, but it was worth it!

Steve: Welcome to FT. Yep im the other Louisiana Vette guy. I live across the river from Baton Rouge. My car is a 2001 Bowlingreen vert. The wife and I also love to do long road trips. When your feeling up to traveling let me know will get Antelopr (Greg and is wife) to join us and we will have a bit of a time together.
Hope all goes well with the healing. Do keep us posted on your progress.
I think in the members section I have a pic of myself with my plastic car.
I went back to check. Under Members only. in the Faces and Names section.. I think it is the 3rd pic. I guess that tells you how long I have been on Frank Talk. By the way the car is dressed as Rudolph!

Steve:
Welcome. You are joining a great delegation from Louisiana! They do need to be watched but are a great asset to our efforts of support, education and humor.
You are a very recent post-op so as ?'s arise- ask. There is a lot of experience here and guys share everything. You are not alone with this journey. The next steps are to heal and begin a Penile Rehab and deal with any continence issues. Join in the chat room as you can. Oh, the big question will be- "Can you make better Pralines than Jeff? It is rumored he has his own trees. . . .
Good to have you amongst us!
Regards,
Dick

Hey Guys,
Thanks for the warm welcome. Louisiana seems to be well represented on this message board. They don’t call it “Cancer Alley” for nothing. Maybe I should have avoided working in chemical plants when I was younger, huh?
Pralines? I’m not much of a cook, so when I want pralines I head down to the French Quarter (5minute drive) to get a few- for about 2 bucks a pop.
I live just across the river from New Orleans, in Gretna. I like the idea of getting together with you guys sometime also. My “Crimson Cruiser” as I call her is a 2001 Magnetic Red 6 speed manual trans vert.
As far as feeling up to traveling-no problem there as I’m feeling normal again except for the limp appendage and one of the Da Vinci puncture wounds on my right side that is taking forever to heal. No continence problems to speak of. Actually I’ll be leaving on my annual Fall color road trip up to the mountains in East Tennessee and North Carolina for about a week. My 25 year old son and I will hit the road on Wed. the 19th. It’s supposed to be nice and cool up there-ready for a break from the long hot summer and a major change of scenery.
I’m looking forward to posting some questions and hopefully getting some great advice from you guys and the other members of the forum.
Thanks,
Steve

Steve,
Sounds like a great trip. One of my best friends lives in Cleveland, TN just north of Chattanooga--beautiful country! Go pass a good time and we'll see you when you get back home.

Hey Jeff,
I've done the museum twice already. Love the Corvette parking only area.
