YouTube video on using VED for Penile Physical Therapy

Here is a video on how to use the VED to help get the penis going again after prostate cancer treatment. The VED is not the cure-all but it can help.

If you have prostate cancer treatment in your future or are having it, I recommend Dr. John P. Mulhall's book "Saving Your Sex Life: A Guide for Men with Prostate Cancer".

Thanks for the link. I'm seeing pumping regimens that are all over the map, e.g. 1 min, relax, repeat. Or 5 min cycles. Or 10 min cycles.

What is the consensus?
68yo. Diabetes & hypertension drugs but none that are infamous for ED causation. Increasing ED compounded by frequent anorgasmia. Viagra for 2 years. Cabergoline experimentation inconclusive. New to pumping (Encore). Supportive (to a limit) wife.

Pretty sure it depends on why you are using it in the first place.
The video references recovery from PC. Which is one use.
Others have used it for therapy before being implanted. Although I'm sure implant users can speak more about that.

I purchased my VED in hope to help with ED. Although it would produce an erection, I never was able to sustain an erection suitable for PIV sex without use of Viagra.

It's also been marketed as penis enlargement. The few times I've used, It did give me larger size. However I've heard of stories where over-use or mis-use can cause damage.
Age: 68. Struggled with ED/PE for years.
Used Viagra for 10+ years with mixed success.
In May 2022 started using Trimix with very good results.
Feb 2023 developed PD
2023 still in treatment for PD, and still using Trimix with very good results

I had radical robotic prostatectomy in 2020. I am 100% erection dysfunctional. I use a pump everyday to maintain healthy penis tissue. I use the Vacurect pump.

Working with my Physical Therapist and an ED physician, my pump regiment consists of one pump for 5 minutes using the largest constriction ring. Then I use the ring sized for me and pump maintaining vacuum for 10 minutes. Both my Physical Therapist and ED doctor encourage me to pump as often as I'd like to, but a minimum of once per day is their recommendation.

This just my experience and I agree with you about pumping frequency and duration varying widely.

Why use a constriction ring? I jusst pumped and kept vacuum for a short time, released vaccum (to allow blood to be flushed through my penis) and pumped up again. Repeating for my alloted time. Exchanging the blood through my tissues keeps oxygenation levels higher than if I used a constriction ring.

Granted, having the vacuum cylinder on my loins was inconvenient if I wanted to do anything around the house, but before rising from bed in the morning and after going to bed at night was not inconvenient.

It’s much safer and more comfortable to use a “sex shop” type cylinder with a wide base rim and equipped with a vacuum gauge. Pump up to 5 hg and hold for two minutes and then reduce vacuum to 2 hg and hold for a minute and repeat the cycle for 20 minutes or so. It’s called pulse pumping and replicates the process your dick used to go through naturally at night during REM sleep.

I had my RP back in the Summer of 2020 during the lock-down and the Veterans Hospital did not send me the VED until six months after the surgery. I was not aware of the importance of the VED in recovery. I started using the VED but my wife did not like the look of my beaten up member. So, now, four years after the RP we are still NOT having any sex at all because she is still missing my old rigid penis. Communication and support are extremely important for recovery. I will soon be 63 years old and I feel like my life is over. I told her I was going to get an implant and she told me she was not going to support me if I had that surgery so I keep on masturbating every now and then my shrink penis. I just purchased a penis extender to see if it will help me regain some size so I don't have to sit in the toilet to pee. I can get a semi-good erection with the VED but it looks too venous and out of shape...
My urologist told me once that I lost collagen on my penis. I wonder if there is some type of collagen therapy to reverse the damage after so many years.
Maybe I will risk an implant surgery one of these days - the worst it can happen is that I end up with a dead pecker. Otherwise, I will not know until I try it...

Beaten up member? How did you use the VED, time in the tube, pressure (you have to have a gauge), sets, breaks in between sets?
Retired 65 y.o. Married. Moderate ED since 2019. Use constriction band ocassionately to help maintain erection, or Cialis/Viagra. Nocturnal/morning erections returning with VED usage. Lower libido than before.

I think many of you could benefit from use of the Prelude. I use it for daily therapy. It’s very convenient for this. I get my dick up for about five minutes, then relax it for a minute, then reapply the vacuum for another five. I do this three times. It can also be “worn” in the shower for additional erection time. I use a regular vacuum pump and constriction ring for intercourse with my wife. I feel the daily therapy keeps my dick in shape for easier use of the pump. Prelude is available from “youandmetime.com”.
