Hello,
well my forecast became true. The procedure fail big time. The only person who benefits from this, is Dr. Herwig. And yes, I blame him for being such a moneygrabbing person, who does advertisment for that procedure even thought he knows its gonna fail. Embolizations, Scleros and Ligations are a waste of time and money, its simply bullshit. You can be lucky you get away with a black eye.
So what to do? Is the Implant really the last step? I dont want to believe. I think theres is more to it. Probably an metabolic or chemialprocess related issue.
Maybe high adrenaline/cortisol. Why I believe that? because there are people who get venous leak at some point of there life, like out of nothing, so it cant be too large venous vessels or something.
So people please describe when and how your venous leak occured first? I think there must be a link that is the same in every person who is suffering that disease, gotta find that.
Greetings

You were absolutely right Domino and the distress this has caused me is incalculable.
I'm not going to get into what VL actually is because I've spent over 20 years doing that. Regret is no good so the only good we can do is tell the world this treatment doesn't work in order no other poor guy ends up in the same situation as me a Seeking.
Seeking - have you spoke to the clinic yet regarding your deterioration? Please contact me on PM because we need to pull together on this.

When did you get your surgery ?
I'm 39 years old. Never was able to maintain my erections for more than 1 minute. Pills don't work. Had sclerotherapy by Dr. Kuehhas in Austria in 2016. Didn't work. Injections (Caverject) are the only things that gave me acceptable results.
Re: Dr. Ralf Herwig claims that he cures Venous Leak
Hi guys,
New to the forum. Have been reading quite a lot here as I am considering implant at london andorlogy....
I have had consultation with Dr Kuehhas..He explained to me the sclerotherapy as something that can be tried before implant and that results cannot be guaranteed...I am scared about the implant sp considering giving sclerotherapy a try...
REsults seem to be mixed as expected and it is an area of research...It does seem to be though also related to the patient history.

HI gollam,
Thanks for the reply.
I send you a PM..I was not offered sclero - I was explained all the options including sclero as I expressed concern about the implant.
Where you offered an implant during your consultation or straight to sclero?

Re: Dr. Ralf Herwig claims that he cures Venous Leak
While I really feel for both Gollum and Seeking, I do need to point out for the communities information that I am happy with the surgery results currently and have benefited from it.
Dr Keuhhas told the risks up front that it is not successful for everyone, and so we all agreed to undertake it with those risks. I think because it did not work for some, does not mean that the procedure & Dr's should be attacked and people warned not to try this if they so wish. There are 3 people on here who have tried it, which is not enough to be sure either way of the success rates.
Time will tell if my results remain, however I currently am happy that I had the procedure.

Re: Dr. Ralf Herwig claims that he cures Venous Leak
Hi Razor - I'm still undecided about my results, I'm still taking 5mg Cialis and have been able to complete intercourse on the 4 occasions I've attempted it with wife albeit using 100mg Viagra. The stress I've put myself under has been massive but understandable based on my penis bulging and collapsing on day 7! I've had another Doppler scan at the clinic which showed the the inflow / outflow was the same prior to the procedure although Dr Kuehass concluded that another leak had opened up in the crura.
In terms of where I think I was before and now:
1. Erections without pd5's
Before : weak erection that would get fully for about 5-10 seconds, could masturbate standing up with constant stimulation.
After : difficult to maintain a semi standing up and have to sit down to masturbate. Erections will still go away quickly if I stop.
2. Using Pd5's for sex.
Before: hit and miss, would be able to penetrate about 1 in 3 attempts. Would lose erection quickly if I lost concentration or wife wasn't ready for me to penetrate.
After : attempted sex 4 times since opp and have been able to maintain a pretty strong erection throughout. Was able to ejaculate 3 / 4 times. Wife says I feel bigger so pleased with that. Can hold full erection kneeling but again it will fade quickly if I stand up???
It's worth noting I've been on the anti depressant (sertraline) for the last 4 weeks and the most common side effect of this drug is sexual dysfunction, ED and loss desire, Therefore I'm none the wiser what my real state is ????
My penis feels more cold on the head in the flaccid state whist I have less in what I call stubbies in the day
I always excepted that at 41 and being diagnosed VL since my early 20's with ligation surgery ain '97 that a total cure was a pipe dream for me. I wanted to respond better to PD5's which to be fair was what I wanted from the procedure. I used to over masturbate in a sort of fear that if I didn't use it, it wouldn't work for sex !!??? I've never had morning wood in my life so basically I've let my penis ruin my life more than I thought.
I'm going for sexual counselling next week which will help my head whist I hope that my trauma is over and I can get used to my new but weird penis that works for sex but not so much masturabation!!! Hopefully no other leak will open up and I can stay like this for a year or two at least before considering the implant.
Regards

Re: Dr. Ralf Herwig claims that he cures Venous Leak
hi all
i have been following these posts now for a while, because i was thinking about having sclerotherapy as well. my life has been miserable for the past 10 years, being diagnosed multiple times with venous leak without real solution. my decision is taken, i will go on with sclerotherapy. but i have to say something and its probably going to be my last post since i don't usually do these things...
from what it appears all the results portrayed resemble what all of us were told preoperatively. so why are some of you blaming people and techniques for things that have not worked... i don't understand you. all of us know what to expect.
the reason why i am posting this is, that i want other fellow sufferers to look at things more objective. some of the posts here, especially from gollam121 are weird, disturbing and misleading. even i have been misleaded by all of his negative talk, excluding the positive reviews... i have now come to a conclusion, my life has been horrible for the last decade, full of failure and doubts about my manhood because of this bloody condition i am suffering from. its time to change things and take decisions. i have taken mine.
@ gollam121:
i am sorry but i have to tell you that you should get your act together and stop misleading people. your comments have affected my personal life in a such negative way. they have hold me back from taking a decision when i should have taken it. the decision is taken now and i will proceed. on the one hand you blame a technique for making you impotent, on the other hand you report a betterment... your posts are so ambivalent, that i have to warn anybody in believing in them. because i did it and i am glad you proved i should stop listening to you. get some psychological help!
we should see this as an opportunity to share experiences and help each other...
@ mike85:
i hope you decide wisely. don't get misleaded. its your life and you should be able to do what you think its best whether this is an implant or sclerotherapy. don't led you bias by some weird and inconsistent posts as i have been doing for too long.

Re: Dr. Ralf Herwig claims that he cures Venous Leak
Hello bcook1,
Firstly I have all the sympathy in the world with you, I'm 41 and have lived with a venous leak all my life but I have made the most of it in spite of this problem and it has never made me hold back in my relationships. This said its always at the back of your mind as you know too well.
I have never suffered with depression in my life apart from my breakdown nearly 5 weeks ago; 4 days after the procedure which like you I thought long and hard about. I agree and regret putting my snap reactions on FT, however all of what I have put with regards to my experience is fact. I never was prepared or expected what happened to me because I was told that the worse case scenario was you will stay as per pre-op state. As I have said the clinic have recognised that a new leak has presented itself elsewhere so its not of my own imagination.
When you talk about blame its an unfortunate natural reaction when under stress and I accept that I was out of order for kicking back at the clinic. The only person I blame today is myself for not holding back to see what the longer term results looked like for Seeking and Razor.
So three members of this thread have undertaken Scelrothreapy, one still reports continued success, another reports failure 10 weeks post opp after early success and for me I have something very different which is explained in my previous post.
You make your own mind up and do what you think is best for you, and if it works then I'd be delighted for you.
Call me what you want but please do not blame me for ruining your personal life that's your issue and no one else's. If you want everyone to paint a panacea then don't bother reading any threads because clearly doesn't help you.
One other thing you say is that these forums are supposed to help guys like you and me then in the other breath say its not your thing to post anything? Apart from the one off thread slamming me of course! Clearly you want to court other peoples experiences/opinions but you don't want to offer anything up yourself which is a bit sad really.
Good luck with your procedure.
