Found this last study that is 2019, so I have led informing is carried out in Madrid-Spain (Europe) where they have started to investigate the issue of venous leakage.
- The good news is that it is minimally invasive, just a small incision.
- They use Caverno-Computed Tomography, which I suppose is much more accurate.
- For now the study sheds green light.
-I think it's only for certain selected patients.

So my take away is that they are using coils and glue to block the veins, resulting in erections when you have sufficient arterial inflow.
They can achieve a greater degree of clarity through their imaging technique, and employ more targeted embolization permitting more discrete and incremental embolization than that which could be achieve via crude surgical stripping.

The problem that I have seen with this technique (going purely from anecdotal patient experience reported online) is that the improvements don't last long.

Am I right in that they did not report results beyond 24 months? I didn't see any statistical analysis (or even descriptive statistics) of success over the long term.

That article is however the best account of what is actually going on that I have read. I learned a lot. So thank you for posting.

The follow-up study is carried out from 6 months to 24 months, this being positive.
- How can we know if those people after 24 months still have good erections? The only way I can think of is contacting the university hospital ....
- If the publication is from 2019 maybe these people are still in follow-up.
- Could it be a first step?
-I also read that boston medical group in 2017 they present it at a conference and they will start using it

Embolizations give symptomatic relief , i have had msny ligations and embolizations but the leak just diverts due to carvernosal scar tissue and the penis not expanding , I think a combination of linear shock wave treatment to break down scar tissue in carvernosal chamber and promote new smooth muscle which will be able to create more venous resistance and reducing venous leak and embolizations/ligations to compliment care , we also need genetic testing , I have painful hemeroids perinium veins and penile venous leak and pelvic venous congestion and after eating gluetan my veins hurt more I wonder if celiac disease can contribute to vein damage

This is not „new research“, this is old stuff. Vein stripping, embolisation, etc has been proven to be ineffective and dangerous by serious science. Some docs try to make money with it. If it would work, anyone would do it. But it doesn’t. We have in this forum almost 100 percent fail rate of vein surgeries, sadly some suicides. Do your research.

I know that it has been around for a long time, however maybe the success rate have increased due to the ability to pinpoint which veins are affected.

Yeah I've read all the stories posted before here on FT and as you said success rate seems to be close to zero, even in the short term! but then you read research papers and a lot of them would report much higher success rates. Maybe studies fluff up their numbers, maybe it is down to choosing the right candidates, or maybe people with successful stories just don't come back to post online... I don't know.

What I do know is that I want to find a solution for this as implant is not an option for me, so I keep checking in the hopes of finding something one day...
