Hi,
I've had life-long PE. Getting to the point where enough is enough. My wife of 10 years wonders why I lost passion - it just takes so much out of me to be so useless.
Looking for a professional in Pittsburgh and hoping someone has a recommendation.
Thanks

Re: Pittsburgh Help
Hi,
I'm a lifelong premature ejaculator myself, so I know what you feel! I don't have any specific recommendation in Pittsburg since I'm living in Canada, but I would advise you to look for a therapist certified by the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT).
You can find the list of all Pensylvania certifier therapist here: https://www.aasect.org/find-professional/2/PA/T
Good luck with you PE. That fact that you want to take the matter in hand is the first step to a fullfilling sex life!

Thank you! I'm so sick of reading about the squeeze method, and start and stop. Nothing has worked, and its time to take the next step
Re: Pittsburgh Help
Yeah, the squeeze method or the start and stop will work for some type of premature ejaculation, but lifelong PE is suspected to have organic risk factors such as neurologic or hormonal imbalance that are more difficult to treat with exercises alone. Still, the exercises can help, and your sex therapist will likely give you some similar exercises. The goal of the exercises is to gain a better control of your arousal, and if they didn't work by themselves, you can try them with some desensitizing product. I don't know how it works in the USA, but in Canada, some therapist can also refer you to doctors who have experience with sexual dysfunction if your PE case is severe and the exercises don't work for you. The doctor can then prescribe some drugs that could help you with the exercises. However, medication is still the last resort, and consulting a professional is the right thing to do.

Re: Pittsburgh Help
Find a sexual medicine specialist. try our physician Finder. Or...go to your doctor and ask him about starting on very low doses of sertraline (zoloft). We prescribe it for out patients. Usually a huge game changer.

I'm curious to know why sertraline instead of another SSRIs for premature ejaculation.
Based on the meta-analysis on the link above, Paroxetine seems to have the biggest effect, but maybe there's pro to sertraline that I'm not aware of?
