Hey Courage
Please do follow through with a good dr. Keep us in the loop.
My biggest fear was not a third operation but because medicare was footing the bill and the malliable was then working that then medicare would deny the 4th op to move to an inflatable. They could simply say, hey your dick is working well enough with the malliable.
Which im very glad I stuck to my guns and took the antibiotics and too careful care of myself to not go the malliable route.
For you , your there, so definitely seek out Clavelle! Good luck brother.

Yeah, after seeing the billings after the IPP and (especially) the infection removal/MPP, I'm afraid about insurance paying. However, the infection was progressing rapidly and my choices were explant/IPP (15% reinfection rate with no ability to replace after removal until healed), explant/MPP (5% reinfection rate, keep space open), or explant with nothing to hold space open.
I did not feel like I was playing with the house's money.

All things being equal, if I were straight an MPP might be the better option. However, It also looks way small, like after my first two cycles with the IPP before the infection. I need to see if I can get some size back--I just don't think the MPP is adequate for what I want.
I spoke to Clavell before I went with a more local option. He was professional--not the fake friendly in the videos. Which is fine. He's a fellowship trained urologist with thousands of implants under his belt. He makes next to nothing (in terms of earnings) on consults, which are just marketing for the implant surgery, which is where the money is.

Funny you say that he thinks he knows everything. One of the things that I liked about him was his transparency when he said that noone knows everything and they all keep modifying and learning from each other. When I consulted with Clavell and he was very professional and never rude. I would say The opposite, IMO. He was very patient and took the time to answer all my questions.
Courage, I hope you get out of this with a successful outcome.

Coloplast Genesis sounds good. It’s an oldie but a goodie. Tried and true for 21 years.
Which diameter did you receive - 9.5/11/13mm?
That drug-eluting hydrophilic coating (once dipped) reduces the odds of infection by 50% compared to its uncoated counterparts.
When you mentioned AMS Spectra, I thought the surgeon must be nuts to pick an uncoated prosthesis for an infection salvage. This still happens more often than we might think because some folks are wedded to one manufacturer or the other, in the name of "Center of Excellence".
Wishing you a speedy recovery.

11mm, which surprised me cause the CX it was replacing had 16mm cylinders empty.
Mixup borne of fatigue. This hasn't been my worst week but it's in conversation for top 10.
Thank you for the good wishes.
