Anyhow, 1/10 implanted, 2/20 given go ahead to cycle, 2/24 diagnosed with infection. I'm about to leave the hospital today with a salvage malleable. Because of my upbringing/hangups I came late to sex and because of ED never successfully topped another guy. No interest in bottoming.
So . . . I don't even know what I have now, other than regrets. I should've gone to Eid or Clavell or someone like that. I went with a local center of excellence guy and for whatever reason got unlucky.
Can you top with a malleable? Or am I destined to a life of jerking off for the time being? If it's the latter, I guess I need to try again after healing up.
Keeping my mind positive is going to be difficult for awhile.
Shit but everything is so difficult.

Hey Courage
Sorry for your issue, did the doc try antibiotics!? I had same issue with first and revision ( reversed due to poor reservoir placement)
Both time antibiotics saved me. Although the dr followed me closely and said he would drop everything to switch out to the malliable.
Thankfully no need.
Ice a lot NO hot baths, heal, that malliable will be fine for topping.
Did you or dr discuss when or if switching back to a inflatable?
Hugs brother

Yeah, this sucks. But you're going to get through it. Don't beat yourself up.
I got an implant in January. Still healing. Like you, I'm a top. Before trying to top anyone again I for sure want to make sure my dick is ready to go. My solution: practice first on a Fleshlight. At that point, you'll know you're hard enough and comfortable enough for penetration.
GM(73) ED for past 10 years. Before: 6.0"L, 5.5"G. After (30 days): 5.5"L, 5.25"G. AMS CX MS pump 18cm/17.5cm on 1/29/25 by Dr Clavell in Houston.

Thanks. On Monday he said I could try waiting but his next surgery day after this past Tuesday was Friday (today) and advised me that doing it faster was better. He said after I get healed. After I follow up I'm not going back to this guy. The initial result looked small...because of his schedule I didn't get to cycle til 6.5 weeks...the initial pump wasn't that hard either. I didn't get to find out if it would get better but I'm not in a good space, particularly with respect to this doctor.
I don't know what I'm going to do. .I'm going to.consult with Clavell, maybe somebody else like that.

Re: Moving Ahead after Infection
Unless someone is endowed with a naturally thick penis and excellent arterial flow to compensate with girth from concomitant engorgement, implanted Genesis and AMS Spectra malleables rank at the bottom of the barrel for axial rigidity sufficient for anal penetration.
There is a buckling force study for 2016 and prior models, and maybe the 2019 Rigi10 and Tactra malleables are better in this regard. Until I see comparative peer reviewed research data, I'm not sure I would buy their marketing claims of axial rigidity.
I would strongly recommend using copious amounts of lube to circumvent the anal penetration buckling issues (if any) until you switch to inflatables.

Welp, I got the Spectra. Not great.

Re: Moving Ahead after Infection
Tactra is the newer model by AMS and seemingly more rigid, however, Spectra is better for consealability!

What I'm looking at isn't that conspicuous. I haven't opened it yet cos it hurts.

I hope it works out for you man, even if it’s just short-term. With malleables, manufacturers have always struggled to strike the perfect balance between rigidity and concealability. Both are so important.

Thank you. I'm tough, I'll be okay.
