Ok convince me shockwave is a terrible idea?
Re: Ok convince me shockwave is a terrible idea?
While some members are reporting improvements, there isn't enough widespread evidence to make it a definitive solution. It’s worth noting that home machines might not offer the same level of intensity or safety as those administered by professionals, so there's always a risk involved. If you're considering it, it might be worth discussing with a urologist first to make sure it's safe for your specific condition and won't interfere with other treatments you’re using.

The technology in home devices is radial shockwave and, search as I have, there is NO evidence that they do anything but warm your tennis. Men who report next-day success are obviously enjoying the placebo effect because the point of shockwave is to encourage angiogenesis which is a weeks or months long process.
I've paid for focused shockwave treatments. Do they work? No idea. But the science has some valid underpinnings and enough respected urologists opine that it MAY help that I'm willing to gamble a few thousand dollars.
You can see from my sig that I've tried just about everything. But I wouldn't waste a penny on Gainswave or any other radial shockwave device.

Here is an excellent 8 minute discussion of the state of focused shockwave. He also dismisses radial shockwave as the sham that it is.
Start at the 8 minute mark.

P.S. Gainswave is radial shockwave, i.e. NOT the real thing.

I’ve been an active member here for years. NO ONE has said, “Wow, what an amazing treatment! It made a huge lasting improvement!”
The ONLY person it seems to work for is the doc that owns the device ($$$$$$).
Just think about it, if it actually worked LOTS of guys would be reporting success. That just isn’t the case.
Pills, shots, VED, implant. THOSE are the treatments that work. Will others be developed? I’m sure. But it’s not shockwave.

Problem is that shockwave is big in Europe but the users of Frank Talk are mostly from USA. And in USA shockwave business is spoiled with gainswave and cheap units bought from China.
65 yrs, had venous leak all my life, sildenafil and other pills don't work anymore properly, using Caverject with pills.

I have had three different periods of shockwave treatment with a Curamedix Focused device at the doctor's office, and each time it brought erection improvement for 6-9 months after a series of 7-8 sessions. His pricing is reasonable, and he is upfront that it typically helps guys with mild ED (which has been my case for most of the time).
Was it a huge miracle cure? Of course not, but it certainly helped.
