I'm a bit surprised that my urologist immediately starting selling me on Shockwave Therapy at $600 per session before he's had any chance to examine me or run any tests on me. Pitched me on 6 sessions to start -- no small chump change here. This just didn't sit right with me. How about you examine & diagnose me first bud?

He's supposedly well-respected in the field but it just seems so hokey to me. Is this pretty typical nowadays? Seems to me that the jury is still out on the efficacy of this treatment. It seems well known that it's definitely effective at emptying your wallet.

We'll see how much sales pressure he applies when I see him later this week. Stay tuned.

Find a different urologist. Where are you located? Maybe someone can steer you to a doctor that is known for implants.

I have yet to hear of shockwave therapy working.

I think the first question to qualify a urologist's (or any other provider) shockwave protocol is to determine the type of device. If radial (e.g. Gainswave or bought off eBay), run; If focused (e.g. Storz SD-1), inquire further.

That sure sounds suspicious to me. Tests need to be done first to determine IF shockwave would be beneficial. And I'm with the ones who said they have never heard of it working. At $600 per session, I would demand some written guarantee.

Nobody has promised that shockwave will cure venous leak. This is how it should be seen:

Phase 1: You have venous leak but as you are still quite young (under 40 yrs at least) you can have sex if you are fast (skip the foreplay).
Phase 2: You must use to use the pill to have sex.
Phase 3: You must use injection or pill+injection combo to have sex.

If you will have shockwave at Phase 1 you might be able to slow down a little bit and do the foreplay without losing your erection.
If you will have shockwave treatment at Phase 2 you might go back to Phase 3.
If you will have shockwave treatment at Phase 3 you might go back to Phase 2.

At Phase 1 your arteries probably work well. In later phases you are older and your arteries are stuck.

I'm sorry but I've never heard a single person that the shockwaves worked
