Topical gel for ED

Postby tommyl1 » Mon Dec 02, 2019 4:19 am

UK company Futura Medical has completed a 1000 patient phase
3 study in Europe for their topical gel ED treatment.
Study results are due this month.
Med 2005 is a gel that contains GTN which is a vasodilator.
The gel is applied to the glans and in a phase 2 study produced
erections in 5 to 10 minutes in the mild to moderate ED group at a low
dose.
Two higher doses were included in the phase 3 study to gain efficacy in more severe
cases of ED.
Product is expected to have almost no side effects and can be
used by men who are unable to use Pde5 inhibitors such as
those with heart conditions.
Interesting stuff.

I have done some pretty extensive reading about this
and it is actually expected to be priced very reasonably.
The FDA and European regulators have also indicated
that after initially being offered prescription only the product may possibly
be approved as an OTC because of the excellent safety profile
of the active ingredient GTN.
GTN has been used as an angina
treatment for decades.

If you Google Futura Medical the website has tons of information.
It is referred to as Med 2005 for use in clinical trials however
I am sure there will be another name given to it when it is marketed.
Likely to be available in Europe first.
I think you may be correct about being useful with implants.
May also be useful for guys using VEDs.
Definitely the 5 to 10 minute response time and low side
effect profile are a plus vs the Pde5s for those with milder
cases of ED.

They are projecting five dollars a dose.
81yrs Yorkshire, UK. Type 2 diabetic. Varying degrees of ED over 10+ yrs. Pills eventually failed. Muse never worked. VED use for 4+ years. Put forward for NHS injections Jly 2017, URO appointment and successful demo Apr 2019. Now awaiting the 'goods.'

Yorkie
I hope the trial results are good and it comes to market reasonably soon.
At 5 bucks a dose it cud be useful even if you didn't have a partner at the
moment....
